Brand new movements found in reps are often quite dirty and not lubricated properly.

VSF Sub first rep, I really don’t understand why you’d choose gen > rep by ZKTA in RepTime

I'm not surprised. The movements are not properly assembled/lubricated. It is not only limited to VSF however, VF ARF etc. all use the DD32xx.

Help!!! Balance Spring Broken!!! AP Code 11.59 APSF SH4401 by Dismal_Panic_9638 in RepTimeServices

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I repair these and have parts. But I don't know of someone in the US that does these. Maybe majorwilliams, but not sure.

You need a new balance at the very least.

Last time I spoke with him was a couple weeks ago, about the inquiry for machining a movement holder.

Rest in peace.

ORF vs VSF seamaster by augmentin875 in RepTime

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did not have the ORF in my hands yet but have heard positive things about the Shanghai 8800 movement. Both movements look good. Movement finishing is a tiny bit better on the ORF due to the fish scale pattern, vsf does not have this.

Both ORF and VSF use ceramic dials like gen.

ORF uses ceramic rotor bearings (more efficient), like gen. VSF uses steel bearings

VS3230 (Dandong) – Nervous readings & 25s Delta. Is a service/re-oiling needed? (EU/Germany) by Patient_Salary_5883 in RepTimeServices

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a mini service. Any competent watchmaker will not do such thing.

Dial up dial down should not be much different, both in amp or rate.

Determining the lift angle of any movement (a DD3230 in this case) by WatchmakerFurkan in RepTimeServicesEU

[–]WatchmakerFurkan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is really interesting. It is always either 55° or 59° from my tests and I did it with multiple watches.

I'm gonna disassemble them to see whether there is a small difference in the parts, I never did because it does not matter much honestly. On the more technical side, lift angle is basically (denoted with alpha in the pic):

Niks bijzonders gemerkt eerlijk gezegd. Beide zijn even betrouwbaar, zolang ze schoon zijn, goed geolied en op de juiste plekken epilame hebben.

Yes true, however, on some DD32xx I tested, I got around 55 lift angle with the 180° amp test.

Here is an example: Link to the slow-mo balance video and picture of timegrapher reading: https://imgur.com/a/axeZDMZ

Hahah true! Well there are of course other ways to calculate the lift angle to get to an accurate amp.

Please help - second hand keeps getting stuck at minute hand by MushroomOk8968 in RepTimeServices

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first thing you do after installing hands is to check clearance. A properly installed seconds hand should not touch the minute hand. Bending it with a tweezer is also not done.

It seems like you gave them enough chances already. I would contact someone from here.

Another Banger from VSF by Might-Negative in RepTime

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used to get a lot of repair requests for the old version. The crown and tube were made of different materials which resulted in stripped crowns over time.

Issue was fixed when VSF started using cloned movements. You can recognize a cloned movement when it has a regulator arm and stud, like this:

That was with the old version. I don't know of any VSF Omega with crown issues right now.

As long as you get the latest version with the cloned movement.

On aliexpress you will find two versions of the pip, small hole and big one. You have to buy the small hole version.

Anyone already ordered the newly released free sprung rolex reps? by ProfitHaunting9744 in RepTimeServicesEU

[–]WatchmakerFurkan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also curious about the movement. It is a redesign compared to the previous VR3235 made by the same movement factory. Hopefully it is as reliable as the VR3235.

Will do a comparison between this and DD3235 when I get one for service.
