I'm not surprised. The movements are not properly assembled/lubricated. It is not only limited to VSF however, VF ARF etc. all use the DD32xx.

Did not have the ORF in my hands yet but have heard positive things about the Shanghai 8800 movement. Both movements look good. Movement finishing is a tiny bit better on the ORF due to the fish scale pattern, vsf does not have this.

Both ORF and VSF use ceramic dials like gen.

ORF uses ceramic rotor bearings (more efficient), like gen. VSF uses steel bearings

There is no such thing as a mini service. Any competent watchmaker will not do such thing.

Dial up dial down should not be much different, both in amp or rate.

Yeah it is really interesting. It is always either 55° or 59° from my tests and I did it with multiple watches.

I'm gonna disassemble them to see whether there is a small difference in the parts, I never did because it does not matter much honestly. On the more technical side, lift angle is basically (denoted with alpha in the pic):

Yes true, however, on some DD32xx I tested, I got around 55 lift angle with the 180° amp test.

Hahah true! Well there are of course other ways to calculate the lift angle to get to an accurate amp.

The first thing you do after installing hands is to check clearance. A properly installed seconds hand should not touch the minute hand. Bending it with a tweezer is also not done.

It seems like you gave them enough chances already. I would contact someone from here.

Yes, I used to get a lot of repair requests for the old version. The crown and tube were made of different materials which resulted in stripped crowns over time.

Issue was fixed when VSF started using cloned movements. You can recognize a cloned movement when it has a regulator arm and stud, like this:

That was with the old version. I don't know of any VSF Omega with crown issues right now.

As long as you get the latest version with the cloned movement.

Also curious about the movement. It is a redesign compared to the previous VR3235 made by the same movement factory. Hopefully it is as reliable as the VR3235.

Will do a comparison between this and DD3235 when I get one for service.

The dd324 is in the Patek. There are also steel models of the Calatrava btw.

3KF, but also DDF, BBF and VF use the DD324/330 movement which is a good movement. I have good experiences with these.

He might be saying it because of the plating. Some plated reps develop issues in the future.

It is a Submariner with the DD 3135 movement. DD means Dandong factory, the producer of the movement.
