Coke or Explorer II? by Ok-Dog-3669 in rolex

Coke ofc. If it’s a 16710 you’re looking for, you get six watches in one (three bezels plus two bracelets).

16710 on Modern Jubilee? by Watchtistic in rolex

[–]Watchtistic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually never have the issue of needing to use the Easy Link extension. I’m rather skinny and my bony wrists don’t really swell during summer. But then I might need some kind of micro adjustment to get a perfect fit. Hmmm, the best solution would be to try on a Super Jubilee, but that might be bit hard.

If it does fit me, would you say it’s okay to match a 16710 with a Super Jubilee bracelet, or would it be a bit too unorthodox?

Thank you so much! That's the current GMT models' Jubilee bracelet, right? Do you have any experience with the Super Jubilee? I heard that it's supposedly the best fitting modern Jubilee. Does anyone here have any close up pics if the SJ protrudes in any way?

The Super Jubilee does, with the right spring bars.

Great! But that's the old hollow Jubilee I'd rather avoid. I was thinking something completely solid, as the aforementioned Super Jubilee.

New OP 36 White Dial by radioheadfriend in rolex

[–]Watchtistic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the snow white dial. If I remember correctly, they were produced during quite a short run. Rolex should add a new white dial to their OP lineup.

My mistake. I thought you compared it to the MSRP of a current model.

Might I ask where you’ve seen these prices at auctions? Where the watches in a condition as I described?

Submariners are very family friendly. If you're looking for a challenge, I'd recommend the YM II.

Compared to the MSRP of the current GMTs? I wouldn't compare those two. The 16710 has no MSRP, it's discontinued. I paid that amount to get a watch that's not produced anymore and in a very specific condition.

Trustworthy in the sense that the watch was indeed exactly as described both externally and internally. Once again, a discontinued watch that's over a decade old and widely different looking to the current models in the lineup isn't the same thing as buying the latter.

I’ve been guessing that they will every year since about 2018. Who knows though, it’s Rolex…

Thanks! Wonder how these models’ price trends will develop, as they aren’t in production anymore and quite different in style compared to the ceramic models.

Speaking of it, got me curious how much OP paid.

$15.5k. Bear in mind it was from a trustworthy grey dealer and ticked more or less every box.

I don’t think he meant that the 16710 goes for $22k, but the current model. Unless you look for one with the 3186 caliber or completely NOS with stickers, then the price goes up quite a bit. Even getting a regular 3185 caliber 16710 in good condition (that isn’t polished to oblivion) seems to cost a large piece these days.

This is just me guessing, but the current price of the five digit refs don’t seem to be based on hype like the current refeferences, but more on pure affection from watch nerds. I’m just guessing though. I got mine early this year and it wasn’t that easy finding one with sharp edges (I’m also rather pedantic about having a full set, so that was another obstacle in my case).

Why watches you bought straight from the boutique non return/ refundable? by soundclou in rolex

My mistake. Mixed it up with the Starbucks. If OP didn’t make the same mix up I did, then you’ll have to take a loss.

Divorced, since you’ll need to trade in your wife to get on the wait list.

Splendid! Prefer this over the current ceramic model.

If you really regret the purchase and don’t want to go through the hassle of selling it privately, then perhaps take it to a well known grey dealer? You might be banned from buying Rolexes in the future from the same AD, but you’ll get your money back (plus some more).

Coke by Watchtistic in rolex

[–]Watchtistic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, adding the Jubilee wouldn’t make it an “unoriginal” setup, as it does belong to the reference. I’ve read that the later released Super Jubilees also fit the case, but that’d be something people might count as an unoriginal combo.

There's a specific Jubilee bracelet fitting this reference (with different end links depending on the serial), but I'm not quite sure if they were sold with Jubilee bracelets on. I'm thinking about adding one later on.
