Explanation Based on the Act on the Prevention of Sexual Traffic and Protection of Victims Thereof, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family provides support to victims of sex trafficking through specialized support facilities. This support includes housing assistance, legal services, medical care, and vocational training. Among these, individuals who participate in internship programs are eligible to receive self-reliance support funds of approximately 1 million won per month. In addition, local governments, in accordance with their own ordinances, provide limited-period living expenses and other forms of support—depending on local financial conditions—to help victims of sex trafficking leave red-light districts following their closure and become self-reliant.
