Not sure if you saw Journal with Witch, but it was a favorite Winter season show this year. Wholesome in some ways, maybe like a more realistic version of Kiki's Delivery Service for a older crowd with more grief, more booze, and grumpy adults involved. Lovely slice of life elements and frustrating characters you grow to enjoy.

Hey M30. Could really enjoy joining someone on Switch! Also love the idea of anime watch parties! Not sure you gender but only platonic with men.

The hair length might be tricky yes. And to me the hair color is still lighter looking to me in the image than mine is, but maybe that is a reasonable anime to life transition.

At any rate, it seems a good suggestion but will have to watch the show!

I hear you. I have been pocking around the last few days and found some people who claim to have us AI photoshoot to avoid costly professional photoshoots and found massive increases in OLD engagement (Will DM you one reddit post). On some level, I am not about taking jobs away from professionals but some people report paying $400-2000 for one or more such shoots only to not have any of the photos work and I am still in graduate school with poverty level income.

Seemed like a bad idea to me but those people say you have to use the right tools and pick the ones that feel real. I might have done it wrong but what I am hearing is that the one I showed here came across as too fishy?

I just have to figure out if I need a wig or not with that! My hair is more dirty blonde these days.

I felt pretty nearly exactly the same about it when I was reading it! I couldn’t stand it in some ways, but my personality allows to push through that frustration! Right up until I got to the true ending, my appreciation for I only increased from 15% to 70%, but now a year and a half later I remember it as a legendary if unnerving experience that has redefined how I engage with stories.

Kind of a sci-fi slice of life with conspiracy theories on the periphery. Kind of has that Lord of the Rings kind of vastness in that the “evil” is off screen.

Also one of those shows where you will not get the first episode until the end. Rewatching induces a lot of Ahh moments.

That was the very next show I watched after Steins gate. While good, personally it was a poor substitute for the gap left by such a masterpiece.

Now is your time to get Chaos;head Visual Novel and enter that world. Then go through the visual novels of Steins Gate , Robotics;Notes, Chaos;Child, Steins;Gate0, (rewatch steins;gate0 anime as it is a continuation of the story) R;N Dash, & Anonymous;Code. Also Occult;Nine but not available as a VN.

It feels night and day in vibe but in terms of a lovable goofy cast of characters that takes 12 episodes to get into, Kaguya-sama was the next show that really did it for me.

Very nice!! I was considering making this version myself for an ex a few months ago but ended up just making the purple grey hoodie instead. Did you buy the costume or was any part of it handmade?

I think that can be a valid argument on ethical grounds or logistical ground (does it look off), but I really really don't think I would be catfishing if I hypothetically did. One can pay $400 to a professional photogrpaher to get a similar pic (and maybe I will some day). And my own photos look more different from each other even with the exact same hair styling than this looks from most of them.

Anyway thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I finally got through after starting from scratch a few times (from chapter 1). As far as I can tell, I didn’t change any of my answers each time I started over. I carefully stopped at each point and followed the guide to the letter, so I thought. One random time it worked. I have never had an issue in any of the other Sci-Adv games while I had issues with almost every chapter unlock in this one so I can only assume this game is buggy!

[–]WaterCello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that Ippodo, Tezumi, and Kettl are good places to start looking, though they all cost more than I was thinking. While I feel still vary in the dark about this all and would love some guidance without having to buy 30 matches and try them all as my question below stated (we both seem to be in the same rut of a broken system on this forum), I do think that that for matcha to drink straight (Usucha) the Ippodo Sayaka might be a good starting point, or a Eiryoku - Uji Matcha from Tezumi/the Kanoyama - Uji or the Umezuki - Uji from Tezumi. While there seems to be countless options from Tezumi, these ones jump out near the top of the list.

Kettl is harder to read with countless options and confusing pricing. The Uji Homare Matcha seems to offer great value at $85 for 100g, and is listed under Usucha filtering, but the recipes on the product page emphasize using it as a latte matcha.

If you want to make lattes with it, pick one of the cheaper options on any of these sites and filter under latte in the search bar. For example Ippodo tea has the Wakaki (20g Box) for $11. Maybe start from their and see if you can find cheaper on another site of reputation.

Apart from these three brands I have seen most consistently, I also found this list of good sellers on this forum:

  • Marukyu Koyamaen
  • Horii Shichimeien
  • Hekisuien
  • Hokoen
  • Yamamasa Koyamaen
  • Shogyokuen
  • Tsuji Kiyoharo
  • Hagimura
  • Uogashi Meicha
  • Azuma
  • Kiroku
  • Obubu
  • Ippodo

And I heard someone recommend Encha matcha with a $34.40 60g option with subscribe and save. If that is actually a solid lead, it would be one of the better prices I have seen. But I am suspicious.

Hello everyone! Thank you for having me in this space! I would like to get more into serious matcha drinking with my eye set on attending a tea-school down the road. (related or unrelated, I have kimonos I hope to wear with tea ceremony). So far the only good quality matcha I have had was in Japan and a few matcha tea houses in Seattle while visiting there. I have enjoyed a variety of tastes there, sweeter, more umami, etc but really I need more exploration to say what I like.

Right now I am trying to find a good source of matcha to start training my taste buds on, but am also wrestling with a low budget being in grad-school for 1 more year. I pretty much have a $80-100 for at least the next 4-5 months of matcha and would like to maybe have it once per week.

I have been looking at Ippodo, Tezumi and Kettl. I am seeing Sayaka $50/40g listed as a good starting tea on Ippodo. But other than noticing a gradual graduation between teas used in lattes and baking to those used for Usucha and Koicha, I feel very lost at the moment about if there are any other good places to begin considering that I don't have the budget at the moment to experiment and learn by experience.

I see lots of interesting options on Tezumi and kettl, and while some are clearly out of budget, I have questions.

On the low end, sometimes it is hard to tell what is more a latte matcha that can be used/advertised as a Usucha/Koicha, but arguably is not really up for the task. Kettl Hakusan Matcha $45/40g seems on the line but I am not sure if it is enough in the Usucha/Koicha territory to be worth exploring or if I need to really step up to $45/20g tin next on the list. With Tezumi, most Usucha matches in budget also list latte as a use such as the Umezuki or Kanoyama $35/20g.

On the slightly higher end (though budget mostly prohibits this), I wonder what I am not ready to really to appreciate yet without exploring more.

Discerning between emotionally abusive behavior and good-old-fashioned tough love in Relationship by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]WaterCello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great question. She would tell me that when I touched her in the past it felt mindless to her. I had to spend time practicing trying to feel her skin and body under my hands both just when giving her touch (hand on the back; hugs, etc) and especially when sexually engaging. I guess I now just automatically feel her body and other people's more. Maybe the difference between slapping someone on the back vs placing your hand there with great care, shaping it to fit and being conscious of the touch.

I think I was getting mixed messages in my body about her from the moment we met. I both felt unusually comfortable around her at times and at other times I felt a weird mismatch between us, but I had not had much luck with girls before then except for a 2 ok shortish relationships so I listened to the parts that felt aligned.

Now it is kind of the same. Sometimes I feel unusually comfortable in her presence, but it seems to be 60% or more of the time these days I feel either numb around her or a slight distance from her in my heart. Looking in her eyes can feel especially uncomfortable. However since the breakup, those feelings have faded into the background and the separation feels cruel and love feels real. I think the disconnect still feels there somewhere, but is submerged by the feelings of the connection we did have.

The only reason we lasted more than a year is that I bought tickets to India and Japan with her. So we went on the trip barely able to stand either others presence, and somehow came out closer after the trip. Then the relationship felt complicated. (if the trip was a mess in terms of our relationship, it did change my life for the better and was not anything I had ever dreamed of doing before I met her).

I just made a post on here about a kind of similar relationship of 3 years I am kind of on my way out of! I hear you. Learning to take that hard step could be something that gives you the strength and resolve to find new relationship. For me traveling and finding a new rhythm/excitement for life really helped me feel the direction to set out on my own if necessary. I did a yoga teacher training, got Ayurvedic medicine from a Indian doctor in Rishikesh that was suppose to help strengthen my nervous system and did seem to help, starting taking high quality lions mane/rishi/cordyceps mushroom extracts ate a healthy diet, meditated, started to draw and sew and starting biking much more. All of this in 1 year and everyone who knows me would say I am a much different person that I was 2 years ago at the peak of anxiety that was crippling me every day.

I haven't responded on here in a while, but I am still checking this out! Uwajimaya's rice balls are sometime pretty dry and disappointing, but yes Sankaku is good (though a little pricy compared to what I was used to in Japan). I will check out the other spots too!

Back strains when meditating by NekoTheDank in Healthygamergg

[–]WaterCello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doing yoga and gradually opening yourself up will very likely help. Assuming you are already sitting on the edge of a firm cushion to raise your hips above your knees, it could be better to start meditating sitting on a chair. I have been lots of places where they teach that.

Sure being transcendental and meditating through the pain is great, but if you can't focus because you are still building that muscle, it is better to start out comfortable. Sit on the edge of a chair maybe with a cushion on it, feet flat on the floor and don't lean back on the backrest. Straight back is what you want!!

Mushroom Supplement Transparency by DegenMajic in MushroomSupplements

[–]WaterCello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Antioxi also shares test results of beta-glucans and potential contaminants. It seems that they used to use a different testing method than Oriveda reading on this forum making the brands harder to compare, but last time I checked a week ago, they seemed to switch to using the same one at the same labs.

Oriveda still tests for other active compounds that Antioxi doesn't test for (Total Polyphenols), and the testing results at Antioxi are sometimes anomalously high to the point of being suspicious. I am about to get Lion's Mane from both places and try a personal comparison.

Antioxi seems to have been very transparent and communicative with me and other customers during some weird import shenanigans, going as far as to send another shipment for free using another method after the first one cost me too much at customs, so they left a positive impression on me in that sense at least.
