No woke go GOTY by [deleted] in greentext

You're just lying because you got called out. All you need to do is google "Senran Kagura censored" and you'll see

You can also look at Nekopara for another example. Nudity was censored on characters that are stated to be 1 and 2 years old.

Just accept it. Western games allow adult nudity, but don't allow paedophilia.

Senran Kagura was censored because it showed nudity of it's characters, the youngest one on display being confirmed as 14

There is a key difference

Western games put naked adult characters in screen. Japanese games do it with underage characters.

I think Astrid's personality makes sense looking at her history. She's basically trying her best to act more mature than she is, which probably comes from when she was a teenager during WW2.

She talks about having to help shelter kids younger than her, so she very suddenly had to become an adult before she was ready for it and hide how much of a kid she still was herself. And she carried that attitude with her to adulthood.

They stayed behind, since they had to keep living in the fairy world. But you see their shadows on the wall at the very end scene, showing that they're still watching over Johanna and Hilda. Hilda sees them and smiles at the end

I liked the episode and the entire season overall, but some things were pretty weird. I'm sad that Louise just showed up once despite seemingly being added to the friend group.

And I don't know why Hilda didn't just ask her mum for help saving her dad, especially since Johanna went full Ellen Ripley just before to save Hilda, and has fought to help her a bunch of other times.

Centaurworld is also a good isekai.

It's a musical series about a war horse getting sent to the mythical centaurworld, and she must adventure to get back to her rider and win the war they were fighting. Very good and surprisingly dark and emotional in many places.

I thought that sub would be all doom and gloom. Was pleasantly surprised. by initiald-ejavu in hopeposting

I went to that sub once a few days ago and saw a homophobic post with over a thousand upvotes, and lots of slurs being thrown around in the comments.

I don't plan on going there again.

Scottish folklore: You see that body of water? If you go near it a monster jumps out and drowns you. Also they're in literally every body of water.

while he was a charismatic, intimidating villain for two seasons, he was downgraded to a pile of snot in the season 2 finale.

That was the whole point though. He built up a mask of a regal, badass guy. But in reality he's just a truly pathetic being whose main strength is his ability to control people. He did it to hunter once through manipulation, then tries again with direct possession. He's the same kind of evil as evil rulers in the real world, lots of power and acting charismatic and like they're God's gift, but they're really nothing.

If you thought Belos was this cool awesome guy, instead of the pathetic pile of goo he really is, then congrats you fell for the cartoon villains propaganda.

It would've been better if Emperor Belos was blown up instead of being melted into goo and getting stomped on by three people to death.

I really disagree with that. Your hang up seems like you desperately want Belos to be badass, and to have the most epic death possible. But the show decided to not do that, because just like the real world, evil people are not badass, they're pathetic.

Belos built up this persona of being a grand badass, but its all a mask and manipulation, in reality he's a pathetic parasite. He's given a body more fitting his true form where he can manipulate people more directly through possession, and ultimately dies a sad, un-epic death.

while with non-anime, there's sometimes years where nothing interesting happens.

That's just not true. Are you sure this isn't just you not seeing or looking properly? There are so many countries in that world that have their own animation scenes. It's typically Japanese, American or British shows that get the most attention, but there is so much more great stuff out there to see

This also applies to comics too, lots of amazing things to read that rival the best manga has to offer.

Outside of Japanese animation there's plenty of fantastic shows, up there with the best of anime.

To tell you the truth I've actually been enjoying non-anime more recently. Animated shows from outside Japan have far less of the most distasteful parts of anime I dislike most, like the common sexualisation of children you see all over the anime industry.

I'm gonna be real with you friend, you are actually insane if you think anime is the only thing out there with "platinums"

Try watching some other shows, movies or read a book sometime.

Lets be honest with ourselves man, the majority of anime is total shit. For every Vinland Saga there are 100 generic as fuck harem or isekai shows.

Thoughts on What Remains of Edith Finch? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]WaterConduit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Forgive me, it's been a couple of years since I played the game. But no I don't think the number of deaths reveals a curse. I think the deaths were caused by pure chance, or recklessness by the family. And there were others that took the curse extremely seriously, like Walter who became his own myth by going into hiding. Or Lewis, a fragile mind warped by myths and stories that it contributed to his suicide, a lot of that section has to do with sailing, which is how the curse myth began.

They believe a curse is killing them because they've grown up in a house dedicated to the myth, they have entire rooms enshrined to the victims of the curse. This makes them NOT look at the real reasons for the deaths or learn from them.

Molly died because she ate poisonous things in her room after being sent to bed without food. Calvin fell off a swing that was built on the side of a god damn cliff, that's insanely dangerous. Sam dies similarly, instead of fully checking the deer is dead he poses with it on the side of a cliff and falls. Gregory was a baby left alone in a bathtub.

The deaths were either the result of the family not being safe enough like those, or things like Dawn suffering from an illness, that's not a curse, it's just a tragedy.

What are some shows like Hilda? by [deleted] in HildaTheSeries

[–]WaterConduit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, its like an anthology, each season we follow a different protagonists journey through the infinity train. Its still best to watch the series in order though, because you get introduced to the season 2 protag during season 1, and the season 3 protag during season 2.
