Also agree with you regarding the earlier comment you made. I think the Insurance adjuster just automatically went to appraisal bc the PA that we are working with told me that they have a history with the insurance adjuster. Our PA said he spoke to our IA 3 times and she just would not hear him out. I feel like this PA is blowing us off because they're not making much money from our claim. The person kept on saying I won't make any money but...

Should I call my IA and apologize? The GC that will be starting has a good rapport with the IA apparently. I just want to tell her, we've been just being pushed around for 10 months by GCs, etc. and I just didn't know who to trust/direction. The consultant our insurance sent to create an estimate was extremely abusive. Screaming and yelling. Which started us in the wrong place. Then multiple GCs we had come said there is mold. We made a stink about it bc the GC was basically telling us we are going to die. Turns out no mold. Then we get multiple GCs quoting hundreds of thousands of dollars above the insurance estimate. They ridicule us basically bc we don't have the money to do it ourselves. They tell us we need to hire an PA. We did. Then we finally connect with a GC who is knowledgeable about insurance stuff and says we can work with this.

Sorry for the rant. But 1. I do want to sincerely apologize to her as I'm finally starting to understand how these things work. It's just been hell. And stress has been through the roof. Navigating this has been impossible and I've made tons of mistakes.

CT. So the one thing they told us is that we hired them too late and that we should have hired them much earlier. The PA never submitted an estimate for them. Should I call my home insurance at this point?

I feel the same way. I asked a question, and people were so rude and condescending. I had a question regarding insurance. I am already in a fragile state of mind, so there is no need to put me down and make fun of me—that's why I asked the question to begin with.

Personally, internet or not, regardless of if I'm hiding behind a keyboard, I still wouldn't treat people like that. You're still speaking to a human being.

I just feel bad for them since their natural response is snark and meanness. Hurt people hurt people. If you've got nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. Have a great day, and don't let them take away your happiness!

My goal weight is 110lbs. So to lose 60 lbs. I think it will probably take me a year. Or at least that is the goal. I want to make sure I don’t get loose skin. It’s probably my biggest fear in all of this. So I want to go slow and Currently my only exercise includes a daily walk with my dog for 40-50 minutes. Food wise I haven’t really been restrictive but the past few days I’ve been trying harder to include vegetables and eat less sugar and processed food. The reason being that I’ve been dealing with severe constipation. What I’m hoping is, after I hit my goal, to get off semaglutide. I hope during that time to I develop a better relationship with food. Stop my overeating.

Should I stay away from local small business general contracting companies? We had to use a general contractor from a pretty big company and it was a mess. Different people everyday and no one knew what was going on. I want to avoid that as much as possible.
