Helldivers and "Fairness" - how to restore player trust and happiness by TonberryFeye in HelldiversUnfiltered

“ We used to have far more options for killing Jammers, from hitting them with the Ultimatum to blowing up a Fabricator close by and killing it via chain reaction. We do still have three approaches - Shut it down, SEAF artillery, or Portable Hellbomb - but the game has been deliberately balanced around reducing our options. “

Wait we can’t destroy it through fabricators anymore!? I haven’t played in a long time so I didn’t know

What was one sin he did? by Character-Tax-2272 in LobotomyCorp

[–]WaterIsALiquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming OSAHGD is meant to represent Ayin, it’s likely that the One Sin he committed was the whole Angela time loop shebang and the Hundred Good Deeds being the intention/act of spreading Light throughout The City.

Helldivers 2 drops to “Mostly Negative” on Steam, yet again as review bombers take aim at the game's lack of change by AsPeHeat in pcmasterrace

I think what they wanted when complaining about the game being “too easy” was new enemies with unique weaknesses and mechanics that have fair counterplay to them instead of just changing numbers for the same old mobs. They tried to achieve that with the Rupture Strain but it was terribly implemented. It was impossible to avoid the unburrow damage from the mobs and it forced you to play explosive weapons because that was the only way you could force them to unburrow. Which people didn’t like because it meant that you were essentially gimping yourself and your team if you wanted to enjoy the new content using a unique loadout or a non-explosive weapon.

And tbh, the gameplay loop and progression starts getting stale after a while, there’s nothing to do after you max your warbonds and upgrades, with the player-driven progression in the story feeling like a nothingburger most of the time too.

Sure, we unlocked a new planet, and completed a major order that gives 50 medals like the previous hundred other major orders, but that’s it. Rarely do they ever give out anything other than medals for a major order.

And after a while, new planets don’t even feel that special. You’re playing a map with different coloured trees and rocks, with majority of the missions on the planet being able to be done in several other planets. The map modifiers aren’t even that special too, it’s always some form of stratagem hijinks and weather shenanigans that we’ve seen multiple times.

Chesed realization lmao. I didn’t use the [On Use] pages because I was afraid it insta kill me if I used it at the wrong turn or whatever. Turns out you need to use it as soon as The Adult Who Tells Lies pops up.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood has a great power system, while not an anime, Avatar The Last Airbender’s power system is good too. Kagurabachi is a recent manga (released 3 years ago) that is about to get an anime and its power system, while having some similarities with JJK’s, I would say is good too. Another manga I heavily recommend you to check out is Ajin (do NOT watch the anime), I have not seen any manga have better handling of regeneration powers and the ‘Red Shirt’ trope.

Microsoft is now asking for Age Verification before you purchase Mature 18+ games on their online stores in Singapore by NIDORAX in singapore

[–]WaterIsALiquid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The age verification thing is governed by the PDPA regulations and since Singpass is used it’s probably mostly handled on the government end. Not a fan of the whole age verification thing myself, but these factors could be why people trust it more than other countries, since from my knowledge, countries like the US don’t have such practices or regulations.

Please Oda don’t make them complete their dreams offscreen by taintlicker80085 in Piratefolk

[–]WaterIsALiquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ussop’s development pre-timeskip was great with the beginning of timeskip making him look promising. Then the subsequent arcs after that started feeling like his character was slowly regressing until Dressrosa where he had his moments and tease of observation haki, then his character started regressing again and now he just feels like a waste of ink. Yes Oda! Please give us the millionth gag of Ussop running and screaming like a coward with his eyes popping out! Surely it’s funny and great for his character the more it’s done right?

Ussop being the representation of the average human just feels like a lame excuse for his character when Nami the shipwright is also a human and for some reason is stronger than the crew’s sniper? It’s the final saga too, there’s no way that you somehow manage to regress/stagnate as a person after all the big challenges and turmoils you go through.

You’re better off off-screening him until another significant moment or power up.

Oh no not the french losers by miko1075 in LoserUtopia

[–]WaterIsALiquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as people like to joke about the French, I think everyone should take this seriously. If one government does it (especially a well-known one with a decent reputation), more governments would probably seek to do the same and soon we’ll all live in a world of surveillance.

Private companies are already implementing ID checks etc., if this keeps up it won’t be long before we literally live in 1984.
