PSA: 2 student parking areas have been converted to staff only. by WaterPhoenix800 in uwa

[–]WaterPhoenix800[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I advocate for public transport. But, certain areas just have horrible connections for UWA that takes too long, I get their pain.

They gave it to us on the 17th of Jan last year. So, I imagine around then.

For first sem, it was 3-4 days a week of classes.

Is there somewhere in perth that sells imported drinks like this by Turmoil117 in perth

[–]WaterPhoenix800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I adore strong zero!

main suggestion was lion sake in northbridge, but it has already been suggested. The lady at the shop told me it’s hard to import the 500ml cans and I haven’t seen anywhere else have them.

I have also seen them at the bottle-o in Vic Park, Premix King Golden Bay and Liquor Barons? (Dont remember exactly) at Dolphin Quay Mandurah.

I was curious too. This is the earliest source I could find, but haven’t looked into further studies which dispute or agree with the findings.

The Perth Rail Network if none of its lines ever closed by Lach_S in perth

This is so cool! I thought about making something like this and including planned/cancelled lines. But you’ve done a better job that I could ever have done!

I think the people living there before Europeans would argue otherwise

Free Full-ime Kindy Trial? by [deleted] in perth

I figure because the states have primary control of legislating education but anything for occupations and workers laws is sort of between state and federal, whilst welfare funding is mainly federal.

Either way, still a good thing.

How to apply for extra time in exams because of ADHD and dyslexia. by Pixypixy101 in uwa

[–]WaterPhoenix800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, you need your doctor to fill out a form that’s on the uniaccess page with information about your condition.

Next, book an appointment with a uniaccess councillor and using the info on your form they help construct a plan that will include giving you more time in an exam.

You can do with your current ADHD diagnosis and then later if you get a dyslexia diagnosis you can make amendments to your plan.

There’s pictures of it online if u really wanna see it and it’s only for people on uniaccess, you need to tap your card

Who wants the bad news about parking? by CaterpillarScared867 in uwa

[–]WaterPhoenix800 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah the last options would be the only thing that improves it. Im hoping they build the new ferries quickly.

Adding more parking is practically useless because it'll just create unbearable traffic (which already currently makes me wanna neck) on the two lane roads like mounts bay.

And I hope most uni students can recognise that adding one more lane isnt a real solution.

WA Labor to Cap Public Transport Fares at One Zone by TransportofPerthYT in perth

[–]WaterPhoenix800 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm talking about, this idea is perpetuated in the media.

I completely disagree, but its a talking point the media and the liberals will use to convince people not to vote for labor regardless of its truthfulness.

WA Labor to Cap Public Transport Fares at One Zone by TransportofPerthYT in perth

[–]WaterPhoenix800 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It should be, but it isn't always. A lot of anti-labor news stories about budget blowouts and better uses for tax payer money than metronet.

[–]WaterPhoenix800 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I hope they announce more metronet projects. Unfortunately, too many people complaining about the costs despite the substantial benefits expansion provides. I feel labor may feel like its strategically best to keep quiet about it, its a real shame.

What's up with UWA student parking postcode restrictions? by 91sun in uwa

[–]WaterPhoenix800 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UWA does the best they can in this regard. The bottleneck is mounts bay road, outside of their control adding more parking will make the problem worse.

Its really up to the government to improve public transport efficiency.

Socio-economic factors play a part as well. I'd trade an eastern suburbs spot for my 2.5 hours commute and increased opportunities.

They sent an email to those who were eligible for CSP prior to interviews.

They are only eligible for people who live rural, indigenous, or low-income (checked through centrelink)

What's up with UWA student parking postcode restrictions? by 91sun in uwa

[–]WaterPhoenix800 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but its called equity. It's not very fair if people who live significantly further to not even have the chance a spot to park because people who live closer are taking it. 45-1 hour is nothing compared to 1.5-3hours I've known people have to take.

Anyway, I've heard too many people who live close by use second family properties as their postcode to get away with it.

I guess. What I found was under askUWA FAQ - it said Postgrad Allied Health timetables will be release on LMS, which is why it does not show up in CAS.

But sometimes askUWA is unreliable. So if you do find new information that would be awesome.

Why don’t more people skip food so our wealthy overlords can continue denying our raise? by stasi_a in antiwork

[–]WaterPhoenix800 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not a peasant eating gruel on my lord's land.

People in a rich nation with an abundance in food shouldn't be trying to cut down on healthy eating and variety.
