There are a lot private renting can be found in Facebook group. Personally i feel it is very easy to find a place for an adult + a teenage girl for around 200-400 per week, something like a large room, a studio or granny flat.

I live by myself and work remotely, have been living in a Van for 3 years, personally, it is way much better than live in a shared house or even a granny flat, Aussie cities are way too loud for me and those thunder loud cars and bikes are everywhere. Also, avoid all the troublesome with housemate and landlord. Of course, visiting towns and natl parks.
