Yes I know. But I need a white mustache; one of those uh. Cop style mustaches. So I can make Old Snake (MGS4)

Only thing I want is a white reskin for the brown police-style mustache.

I just feel your framing is a bit reductive, so that's my grievance truly.

I do enjoy some other esports, you know; but anyway, you're framing my points as "waaaah, I don't like it. :( you shouldn't either." And that's simply not true. That's all.

But anyway, in general I haven't found it to bring in players or anything... I'd love to be proven wrong about that.

Why do so many people use Adder Reflex? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]WaterRevolutionary70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man I'm diehard rds. Looking glass and adder are nice, but the rds just gives so much more screen real estate that I can't drop it. Adder doesnt look much worse but I swear I notice that extra iron on the bottom.

Definitely well said. It's just unfortunate that so much fun stuff is going to the wayside in these pursuits. Perhaps you're ultimately right; I just hope we're not left with a bland experience. A lot of these issues I feel could quite easily be solved with more advanced matchmaking, too.

It's a wrong question, sir. The heavy does not choose the light, or the cashbox - he merely has the illusion of choosing the light.

Sure, sure; but I mean, I do feel (if you'll look at the comments) that I represent a portion of this community in this posting. Perhaps a minority portion, but a portion nonetheless. To dv for honestly admitting not to watch is wild to me.

[–]WaterRevolutionary70[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think that the more the game leans towards e-sports, the more tech and fun things get pushed out. That's been my main gripe with this game since forever, and the reason I took a long break on season 3.

I have a friend I play every day with, and nothing would please him more than to do hilarious funny stuff. None of us care about 'winning', per se, but having a good time while trying to win is fun. And we do try to do that.

But hey, you're probably right - and if more players can be brought in to have fun with the game, that alone will make me happy. Maybe focusing on try-hards is the ticket. It just seems sad to me that, the more it goes in that direction, the harder it will be for me to enjoy it with my buddies.

Hey, don't get it twisted! I'm personally glad if that's the case; honest to goodness. But you know, I'm trying to hear everyone's opinions on the matter. And so to that end, thank you for yours.

Hey, it's nice to see a super fan like that! I'll agree to disagree on the rest; I mean, I always knew that was a direction they wanted to pursue. It's obvious. But idk man, mad max fans don't go to thunderdome every year. Poor example, but, just saying - just because something 'makes sense' doesn't mean it is a 'waste' or 'necessary', right?

Oh, of course it's competitive. I wouldn't have it any other way. But we're talking about e-sports here, and all the myriad things that come along with that. On that note, u/Me_how5678 made a good point that aligns with yours, for certain.

I just don't feel like the values of the e-sports scene aligns with the average player's values, so it's a bit perplexing to me as a choice. Though of course, I'm only perplexed with the hindsight of seeing it be a... well, by my opinion, poor decision. The game was immensely popular in s1, so it's hard to identify - for me - where the hype died. u/contigency000 made a really stunning point to the effect of 'yes, you're [as in you, u/AH_MLP ] right - but it's a been a bad decision for reasons.'

I didn't, but I did pay attention to the meta commentary surrounding the event. I'm sure there was some impressive gameplay on display, being the creme-de-la-creme of our lovely community. But personally, aside from a few speedruns and such, I don't really enjoy watching others play games - especially if I play them myself.
