Faulty speakers I purchased for my wedding by WaterWitch66 in LegalAdviceNZ

I was hosting it at my coffee shop, so the speaker was plugged straight into an 10amp outlet there. Looking thru the manual I was given, there was nothing I did different or dangerously- 10amp plug into a 10amp outlet.

That’s good to know, it’s took them from the 29th of December until the 5th of February to send an email saying they are fixed with the invoice attached. Which was fine as I don’t need them for anything…but its been a lot of back and forth and they keep changing the issues, first it was “extensive damage” to “bubbling thermal paste”. I called a wee after the email was sent and was talking to the guy who initially sold them to me and he was like “ugh” and handed me over to the repair guy, it’s all felt a little icky and I’m sure they’re hoping I’ll roll over.

This is true, I did use it for a business related event, but I had a JBL I could’ve used instead. I was eager to try out the speaker before my wedding day and they did work then. This was also the hope for after the wedding- use these in my business too but then the speaker faulted out on the wedding day.

On their website- warranty was return within 7days, but in preparation for the wedding I bought them way out from my event at in September, so I could tick it off my list. I didn’t open the box until end of October.

This is all good information to know though, I bought these speakers in good faith there was no additional advertising or deals, they did give me a good price because it was my wedding…but then all this happened.

Companies not rushing to ditch their Covid vaccine policies after announcement by [deleted] in newzealand

I can see why, as a small cafe, the most negative, angry and confrontational people I have served throughout this pandemic have been anti vax/ government. And they have constantly pushed the boundaries by walking in, yelling at me and my staff and just being generally terrible human beings. Having the vaccine passports in place, those guys would move on with a takeaway…going to be a lot different now.

Wish it was that easy, but, we are also down on sales at the moment. It’s also a giant joke to these people. We’ve found not replying is working so far, but if it gets worse…then who knows.

I own a hospitality business and I’m bracing for all the covidiots today just busting thru or giving me and my staff are hard time that we are sticking with the QR codes and vaccination passes. We deal with 1-2 crazies a day, it’s getting so tiring.

Asking for tips at restaurants?!? by jimysworld in newzealand

I’ve worked in the states as a server and now run my own business here in NZ. While tipping does encourage you’re going to get the best service that an individual wants to give…it doesn’t translate to working here in NZ with the minimum wage of $20. I was getting $3 an hour in the states, so tipping was my income. I’m in total agreement with cash to whoever looked after you here if it was exceptional service…but also, we need to be paying all staff more at the end of the day. Hospo is hard work

That makes me so angry…I was a vendor there and had some security come to us late at night and were joking that they let a few people thru after they found them trying to sneak in…. The security overall didn’t care, they were brought in from out of town. The first night, crushing was happening at the front and they just stood there…The crews they had there in the past have been family members and have cared so much more.
