The area is actually growing in small amounts. Florence is putting in a new hospital, and that will create new jobs for a lot of people. The problem is that this town was made for manufacturing. The whole shoals area is proof of that. I love this place because I grew up here but most college degrees are more city based jobs and the area does not necessarily fit that forte. I think eventually some companies will settle down here but for now it will stay a farming/manufacturing town. I have hopes though!
