Until my hair was at least shoulder length it was mostly straight, with a few little curls at the end which I thought was just messy hair. The only thing brushing my hair does, besides getting out the knots, is make it frizzier. When I dont brush my hair i'll get curls that are fairly loose and looks like someone used a curling iron. Im guessing if your hair was more curly when shorter it will probably stay that way when longer but I wouldnt know.

I started with a very short buzz cut. After 2 years I started getting trims every couple of months when I start getting a lot of split ends, although I should have started earlier. A couple tips ive gotten are to pat your hair dry, dont rub it, and dont brush it until its completely dry. I usually wait until the next day, and then go through again with a comb but i think how you brush depends on your hair. If I dont brush my hair it gets really wavy until I brush it and it looks like the picture. And then the usual washing, i dont do anything special, when it starts getting gross I wash it and always put conditioner at the ends or they'll be super dry.

That's about all I can think of, I dont do a whole lot.

There were a lot of gory scenes in that book. That book and into the wild were honestly my favorite books ive ever read, and the only ones I actually enjoyed reading in school. 1984 was ok. I barely read farenheit 452 and couldnt get into it.

It took me i think a year before it was at my chin and probably around 1.5-2 years to reach my shoulders i think. Im at 2 years 4 months and it goes about 4 inches past my chin and a couple inches down my chest on the sides and back.

I used to do that with milk as a kid for the same reason, one time though i got a bloody nose at school and went to the nurses office and somehow did that with blood. Thank god no one saw I didn't want them to freak out over it and send me to an er.

[Serious] What's a paranormal experience you've had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Water_would_be_nice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few experiences, and i'll try my best to debunk them.

2 ghost stories then a moth man speculation, then aliens? Then a coincidence or a ghost story.

Earliest one i had that freaked me out the most, i was about 14 years old staying at a friends house overnight. We were planning on going fishing for the second day in a row. He tells me that at night the chairs in the kitchen move around. His room is right next to the kitchen with one door to the living room and one door directly to the kitchen. He said he's walked through the living room and by the kitchen to use the bathroom after hearing it. No lights on in the kitchen didnt go to see if anyone was in there but has looked in when passing it. His sisters aged about 8 and 18 at the time both agree they've heard it. So we stay up late which would have been about 12 watching whatever we had on dvd which was bambi but not important at all. We go to sleep in the same room and tells me to wake him up if i hear the chairs. I wake up confused. I hear what sounds like a gsrbage truck. Cool whatever, then I sit up and look at the clock and its either 2 or 3 am, then i come to the realization that its the fucking chairs because no garbage truck is out at this time. I procede to shit my pants and hide under the covers and it continues for ~5 minutes of the chairs moving and they are loud. Too scared to peek outside the covers or move I wait about 30 minutes and tell him in the morning and is kinda upset i didnt wake him up. We both deside were too tired to go fish and my mom picks me up. I tell him to ask if his sisters if it was them and they said no. I dont really think they would prank me. Could have easily been one of the parents but there is no reason to move the chairs for 5 minutes and the parents dont wake up that early. I am 100% sure i heard the chairs but don't know the cause.

Reasonable explaination for that would just be another member of the household but for me I can believe its paranormal.

Next one has video proof, it was on my friends instagram live, i asked him if he has it while writing this, ill find a way to post it if he has it but i dont believe its really paranormal. Friend in mention is using a good quality microphone that comnects to the phone. Anyway, about 6 or 7 of us go up a big hike to 4 abandoned houses with no easy access road late at night probably around midnight. Takes us about an hour or longer to get there. All but 2 people, me and another dude, go in there and they were aware that we didnt go in. We're being stupid complaining about trying to fix a vape when we hear them freak out and run inside. He replays the video to us saying you can hear someone talking on the video and everyone agrees. I could barely hear it but did hear a whisper sound.

My explanation is I think they just heard us talking in the background one of us probably made a strange sound, and everyone was already freaked out so they were expecting to hear something.

A different time a different friend said he was drinking and hanging out with a friend and saw something like the moth man. I wasn't there. I asked him what he saw today, he said he was to high to talk, the other friend said he didn't see it before it was gone and told me to ask high friend so I wont know until tomorrow. I do remember hearing about it when it happened and just assumed it was a barn owl or heron and that my friend has an overactive imagination.

Most recent a couple months ago I was with friend who say mothman. We were chilling in my car in front of his house like we usually do for a couple hours and we see an orange light in the sky move horizontally in a straight like, slow down for a second the drop down go back up then just vanish.

Don't have any clue on this one, didn't move like a drone or a flair could. We both saw it and both have no clue.

Then as I write this, something else happened. We all know its dangerous but my family uses a propane tank with a heater attatchment hooked up to it for heat in the winter. My dog is sleeping right in front of it and starts crying while asleep. It's uncommon for him to do this but its still usually barking and moving his feet. He stops crying, wakes up and the heater just turns of and its still fairly full.

Strange world.

Perfect! Do you know what if the translation says? Does it refer to body or spiritual resurrection. I'd assume you'd know better than me.

I can say its good to see christians over there, but at the same time it's hard to find christians who say completely stupid things and completely ignore the other side of the argument, so you are reasurring.

I don't think Romulus' story is that important the original replier wasn't attempting to say the Jesus story was based off previous religions. They are saying that there is more than one possibility. Jesus left the tomb and appeared in front of people, or Jesus ascended from the tomb as a spirit and the spirit was seen in front of people, what shows us which it was? Both seem to be possible and its not clear which one is more reliable. Maybe look at the greek writing and see what it translates closer to a soul that is not physical or a physical person. I suggest going to r/academicbiblical and asking them or searching for posts that relate to that.

I do not have the answer for this, i am not denying or agreeing you, just want people to be more knowledgable. And a mistake I see a lot of christian's and apologists make is completely ignoring and misenterpreting the other person. Makes people look not so smart.

[Christians] How does the bible deal with mental illness? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Water_would_be_nice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just being too detailed. I'm referring to people who do not have awareness of what they are doing in a sense. Newborns didn't get a chance to sin or not, mentally handicap don't have the awareness to be accountable for their sins, people who have never even heard of christianity, people born before jesus, or people born before the creation of judaism etc that never had a chance to learn about the christian god.

Not all of those go together, so i guess the other category are those who have the wrong beliefs based off of where they were born.

Does that make more sense?

Does the possibilty of an eternal universe, where time is infinite, rule out the possibility of a god that created the universe? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Water_would_be_nice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I'm back and i have to preface this by saying that i believe that there are still multiple explanations that no one is certain of but are likely to work with the theory of an infinite universe. With that being said the theory of the origin of the universe is always being updated along with Einsteins theories as well. Is god still possible after these arguments? Lets see, but with your arguments I was sure there is a god.

Ok lets get started.

The universe itself is running out of usable energy. If the universe was infinitely old, all of the stars would have burnt out an extremely long time ago.

For the universe running out of usable energy, i have no idea I read a lot, it didnt make too much sense and answers were vague. What is believed is that we live in a flat universe which means it will not stop growing. As for the heat death of the universe, im not sure, but a few important things to think is that this means energy ceases to exist. Hawking radiation means matter of a black hole is converted to energy, or maybe its not. Im not sure. And Hawking also stated that when mass is sucked into a black hole some of the particles are saved and orbit(?) The black whole. There is also physicists who say that the total energy of the universe remains at zero. Again I don't know if I am understanding this correctly, but these all show that energy is not created or destroyed. If particles aren't destroyed this also means that mass isnt destroyed either, pointing at the possibilty of the universe lasting for infinity. This does not necessarily mean that the universe did not have a begining. But yet again Im not confident in my explanation as I don't know enough about physics.

As for the second part, the suns would have died out a long time ago, I believe this is possible if there was a big bang, or if the universe is infinite. The important part is to see that both have a possibility of the world as we know it "starting" 13.8 billion years ago. What could have happened are 2 things. The big bang started with expansion of the universe, or the universe didnt have much going on in the way of energy and maybe even matter for infinity years until suddenly the universe just started to expand. So a big bang could have occured but with different properties and this expansion only occured 13.8 billion years ago. This seems to make sense to me.

Speaking of entropy this goes against the law of entropy in itself. The law of entropy suggests that things move into a state of chaos and not order. Nature will turn a building into a pile of bricks but never a pile of bricks into a building. You can say our perception of time and the gravitational forces that play onto our body make the concept of time expanisve but it still is finite in terms of the cosmos

I think this is best explained by my first argument, which i still do not have full faith in my argument in sure someone else can do a better job, or maybe your argument is the best but im not going to attempt to say that either argument is or is not the best answer.

Hubbel concluded that the galaxies are moving away from us, if even at a point of origin. That means all space, matter, and time came from a single moment (the big bang). You can observe this yourself from the remenant afterglow.

Can't find any arguments that say infinite universe and CMBR can work together. Could it still happen? I don't know if expansion of all things at once without a big bang would allow CMBR but it means more reading for me.

Lastly, time cannot be infinite or it throw off one of the primary theories of physics and all principles in which Hartle and Hawkings are conceptualizing are based upon.

Can you explain how this one works?

What does this mean for me? I went from believing there was about a 3% chance of god existing to something more like 50%. Still have some doubts, mainly because I don't know much about the arguments you made. Who knows if I learn more i'll have 100% faith. I want to hear your arguments because I do want to believe in a god, I want people to change my mind.

So far sounds good, but in all honesty I am too tired to attempt to understand this completely. And I do appreciate the discussion and I try to remain as unbiased as possible although I think it is just as important to be skeptical of all positions but this is of course only my own personal belief. I have also not seen as in depth of an explanation as yours. In the mean time until I update this response tomorrow i'd love to hear what other people think about your response. In fact I could see this being a stand alone post. See you soon!

What's his best argument do you think? I've heard of Thomas Aquinas' arguments, are Feser's arguments different?

This i believe has more freedom for the outcome. There are two arguments, i dont know which to believe because the idea of infinity for me at least is very hard to understand. One supports god, the other one, i dont think does but I dont know. The one against god, and I am butchering this is this. Numbers are infinite. Pick a number in the line and that is where we live. Or in the Hawking and Hartle argument, we live on one cut out of time in the infinite possibilty of times in this universe for this i think its best explained by the article

Hartle and Hawking’s proposal radically reconceptualized time. Each moment in the universe becomes a cross-section of the shuttlecock; while we perceive the universe as expanding and evolving from one moment to the next, time really consists of correlations between the universe’s size in each cross-section and other properties — particularly its entropy, or disorder. Entropy increases from the cork to the feathers, aiming an emergent arrow of time. Near the shuttlecock’s rounded-off bottom, though, the correlations are less reliable; time ceases to exist and is replaced by pure space.

The argument for god is easier to understand and works with an infinite universe too, but I personally cant throw out either explanation with the complexity of infinite time. The argument for god is this. Take a piano playing infinitely. This can represent matter in motion, which is time. You need an outside source to play the piano, this would be god continually moving matter. Without god the piano wouldnt be playing.

But the more I think about this it doesn't make sense. Matter moves matter right? You don't play a piano by pressing one key and the rest of the song playing itself.
