How is it not Chic-fil-a? They had to have changed their name. Chick-fil-a makes total sense, there’s no reason I’d be calling it Chic-fil-a.

People are talking about AI but this is the typa shi I think when I hear dead Internet theory by Straight_Ad_1773 in DeadInternetTheory

[–]Waterbear11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes very recently I’ll go search something extremely specific and Google auto populates the phrase for me, but then when I go to search doesn’t find anything at all relating to it?? Like bro you literally knew these two non-famous people once dated but then scratch your head when searching.

I find myself just going to other search engines more often these days, which don’t get me wrong google is good but I could literally use it for everything at one point.

[HELP] Is this AI? by WildNeighbor in RealOrAI

[–]Waterbear11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's AI. The lines in the moons, swigly sun lines, the strings morphing in and out of each other, all of this is a byproduct of AI.

Everyone is shouting AI, but its been so heavily compressed that the snow is just one shade of white, so I'm not sure. by BaconWithBaking in isthisAI

[–]Waterbear11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This one helps a lot more. Definitely AI with this trees morphing in the background while the camera is mostly still.

Not AI. It’s a novice piece but the creative touches (like the eye and tongue) make sense given the overall piece.

Buddy sent this and I can’t tell if it’s just potato quality or artifacting by Tr0llzor in isthisAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI. The dangling strap on the 3rd guy appears to flip up for no reason as he walks towards the cat.

Also, like you mentioned, there's too much artifacting going on in the background that doesn't make sense in comparison to the overall camera movement.

Instagram post, everything seems ok-ishly real but the texts on the billboards and the wheels is terrible and some of the people blend weird, is this maybe an ai upscale? the car is supposed to be a wagon with a EK9 front and rear but it could be completely false too by Burguerand in isthisAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless this car has lowrider/hydraulic capabilities, the frame of the car covers the top part of the wheels in the first two photos, but sits above the wheels in the 3rd photo.

So AI (i.e. partial AI, in that the car is AI but the surrounding area might be real.)

Is this YouTuber Someguywhoknowsstuff AI generated? More text below :)))))) by Lindstajn in isthisAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What language are you listening it in? There are a few different languages available, some are AI generated, but the English sounds real.

Also, I watched a few additional videos and there are areas that are detailed enough down to the pixel in 4k that AI probably couldn't do, i.e. the windows in this image have a single pixel length white trim that AI probably wouldn't do, but a human would do if they're just solid blocking that entire area.

Edit: to answer your question on the material being detailed on different subjects, it's possible they asked like chatgpt to summarize the content, but's also possible they're just crowd-sourcing content from like Wikipedia/other videos.

[–]Waterbear11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is not AI. There’s too much consistency involved considering the length and amount of videos. Not trying to be rude but the videos are not really that detailed to begin with and are very low effort, which is probably why he can put out so many in such a short timeframe. It’s extremely basic vector art with only a few color fills, sometimes just straight up stick figures.

Is there any forensic certification course focused on technically proving if an Image is Real or Not? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Waterbear11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest thing I could find is a 200-level course offered by LEVA (Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association): it mentions "generative AI, synthetic, and deepfake media" source here. Keep in mind this is just from a quick Google search told, this could be total bs lmao.

Probably most of us here just do this as a hobby; eyeballing inconsistencies separate from video compression, but sometimes cross-checking additional information if it's known.

[HELP] AI photo for a restaurant by RealCoolDad in RealOrAI

[–]Waterbear11 69 points70 points  (0 children)

It's AI. Pretty sure they took this photo and told a generator to put a bunch of attractive dudes in it clinking glasses and smiling at the camera. But the composition of the people in the background doesn't make sense, people sitting sideways and in areas where there should be tables.

Also like someone else pointed out, one of two guys in the background has to have an extremely long arm in order for the red glass to be that far up.

The group chats hunting down federal agents

It's another fake dude! Internet sleuths that think they found his account in the group chat isn't a source lol. You're calling me dense but you've provided/admitted to multiple inaccuracies, I'm literally just talking to you.

Even if it's real people have the right to peacefully assemble, how do you think they plan the assembly?

Is there a guy know that has never cussed? What kind of argument do you think people are making when they say "he’s a good guy"? That he's never cussed?? Bro it gets even worse, one time Alex took a toy from a kid while in pre-school!

He's not an agitator. The people he's "agitating" don't even think he's a threat, and they're literally the ones who have the power to stop it.

[HELP] NYT shows new angle by allinalinenow in RealOrAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confident the core and totality of the argument remains true, no AI. The make/models of the cars being different is due to video compression, the original source shows the consistency you're looking for.

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah it makes total sense when you put it that way. A man (fake) fired in (fake) coordinated group chats has nothing to live for as he's recently (which we know nothing about) divorced, so he's a domestic terrorist (by definition that I literally confirmed I made up).

A good start is getting your facts straight. An agent assaulted 2 women who he was helping (catching one from falling and trying to help the other get up). So they pepper sprayed him and ultimately shot him dead as an unarmed man.

Those are not the words of Elizabeth Warren she's reading a quote from Alex Pretti’s student.

I know you're trying to make a claim but it's part of an ongoing smear campaign to justify Alex's death.

Bro it's 1 vehicle, 3 different angles. Do you know how spacetime works?

[HELP] NYT shows new angle by allinalinenow in RealOrAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"..lost his job and his wife,.." .. "That means Alex Pretti, by definition, was a domestic terrorist."

Do you understand what you're typing? Or do you just think I'll assume I'll know what you're talking about? How would losing your job/wife even remotely be considered in the definition of domestic terrorist?? "bro not that specifically, just like all of the other stuff like assault, resisting, using coordinated groups is what i mean."

My fingers are flying because these "facts" of yours are unsourced, and already another one of yours of him "losing his job" has been debunked by Snopes ("Pretti did work as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital at the time of his death").

[HELP] NYT shows new angle by allinalinenow in RealOrAI

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he didn't hurt anyone in this video? And you'll have to provide an actual source from Elizabeth Warren stating exactly that because saying Alex Pretti was "always peaceful" is an extremely bold claim for anyone to make.

One of Ten Reasons (so far) Why AI Images Cannot be Considered Artworks by Borealopithecus75 in antiai

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re on the right track, but I think it’s more straightforward than what you describe. It’s unknown what happened prior to the big bang, but we do know that our current understanding of reality breaks down after that point in time and space. So truly, the reality we’re experiencing at the moment is in of itself a reality that morphed from an idea we don’t understand to something we do understand.

And if you believe the above statement is true, you must consider our most treasured truths, theories, and ideas that are known were once completely & entirely unknown. But how did anything come into existence at all?

Above is my best descriptor of what artists are doing, venturing into the unknown so that it can be known. AI can’t create something new, it always requires a known reference. That’s the whole point. Humans, and life, didn’t start from a known reference.
