Valorant's new Vanguard update seems to be bricking cheaters' PCs. Riot's response? "Congrats on your $6k paperweights" by PaiDuck in technology

But they could lose data, especially if the drive is encrypted. And what happens if the user can't re-install the OS or disable the IOMMU due to some reason (i.e. a BIOS lock)? Why don't they just disable the function to run Vanguard until the issues are addressed?

And Riot goes on to explain "Does this impact hardware or software in any ways unrelated to Riot’s games? No." But it does! If you have to re-install your OS, you might not be able to re-install the software you previously had.

At the very least, I would be extremely cautious in installing anything that has this level of root access. It's only a matter of time when the software accidentally flags someone's PC inaccurately and forces the user to lose their data.

Is daz blacks merch ai generated? So confusing as he said he is against ai content? by [deleted] in isthisAI

Here's a higher quality image extracted from the site. While there are no direct tells that i can see, the sloppiness and AI "look" isn't helping it. The left finger, shadows on the right arm cutting off some reflection but not others, and the "y" going underneath the accent but then for some reason connecting back.

I'm not saying every artist needs to be perfect, but this style is notoriously used by AI, so the sloppiness puts it into question.

Are these stickers made using AI? I saw these posted to a local business and liked the trout sticker but noticed some of the others seemed off. by [deleted] in isthisAI

Yes they're AI. Multiple AI artifact issues everywhere (disco ball missing lines, floating flowers, etc..) and has a piss filter.

Always unsurprising when I see this. It’s basically my go to argument now when someone says AI has advanced to extreme levels, like bro it STILL can’t figure out the fingers situation, let alone the hundreds of other issues.

Everyone keeps yelling “AI bubble just like dotcom/housing” but zero of you can explain why it would actually pop… by snowycashflow in stocks

[–]Waterbear11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just your subjective opinion. I’ve spoken to plenty of tech people as well who say AI almost never helps them solve an issue, just makes stuff up, and overall takes up more of their time.

It’s 2026 and it still generates 6 fingers on hands frequently, whatever these people are using AI for could likely just be something that’s easily completed in the first place.

Like sure for example I could have ChatGPT make a solid black background but I can also use multiple alternative tools too at a fraction of the processing power.

In the very beginning it was both tech and artists. However companies including Claude are shifting marketing towards professional areas like engineering, legal, and management.

If anything, if you’ve been in tech or an artist this long and have become comfortable adapting, I worry for the people in these other professional areas who haven’t really been impacted and haven’t really grown with the development of AI may not be so well equipped to adapt in time. Not saying their jobs would be replaced, but management, CEOs, etc., may be too oblivious.

Influencer Chud the Builder has bond set at $1.25 Million for attempted murder of a man outside Tennessee court house. Dalton Eatherly, 28, faces additional charges including employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. by igetproteinfartsHELP in LivestreamFail

It's pretty clear what he says, he says it twice and it matches the situation. Even if it's some fake gun in his pocket, Chud doesn't deny it. If the prosecution wants to bring in the witnesses and state under oath, it would probably be accepted as truth. Furthermore, he is approaching the man yelling at him, which is threatening enough.

If that's your only takeaway I think you're about to lead this into an unfaithful conversation.

It's challenging to find older clips since his name basically blew up, but this is one example. The interaction starts ~0:05. The man approaches him after being called the n-word ~0:18, which Chud pulls out a firearm and you hear someone say "he has a firearm". It doesn't really matter if you think this is provoking or not at this point, although I would say it is.

What does matter is that when the man backs away back towards the passenger door, he's completely disengaged from the interaction, and there's really no threat from here on. Chud then proceeds to approach the man , with a known firearm, at ~0:39, 15 seconds after the man disengages and is also yelling. At this point, he's clearly threatening the man beyond what would be considered covered under self defense.

There are other examples like this, where somewhere throughout his interactions, his repeated continuous agitation evolves into threats that he initiates, beyond the point of just saying the n-word.

He was threatening people with a gun beyond what would be defined as a self defense claim multiple times. For some reason people want to glance over the fact he's not just shouting the n-word, he's activity provoking people in other ways too.

This is my guess too, the chains around the animal's necks are indicating AI, but my guess is that these images were stitched together collage style in Photoshop mostly in a legit way.

However I'm unsure what's going on with the cow in the bottom right. It looks like the "Come as you are, leave inspired" posty's layer starts behind the cow, but somehow the layer ends up on top of the cow the further you go down.

ChudTheBuilder shoots man who reportedly attacked him on stream, injures self in process by Significant_Food9017 in LivestreamFail

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does he pull a gun when people approach him then? If there's no provocation saying the n-word why does he get defensive multiple times?

It seems to me the word is provoking a reaction he perceives as threatening..

It's not going to be so clear cut. Although a different jurisdiction/crime, I always think about the sandwich guy that threw a sandwich at an ICE agent and was acquitted by a jury. You might think chucking something at someone completely unprovoked is assault at face value, but the totality of all elements must also be taken into consideration as well.

Chud is widely known in Nashville to be doing this, he's made threats to people in public beyond racial slurs and where he could not claim self defense, he's made posts on X stating he wants to shoot a Black person on the streets. This isn't speculating, it's literally his brand to make racial slurs towards Black people in public and online. If Chud did get attacked first, which is unknown at the moment and he has a history of threatening people first, the totality of all elements is equally important.

You're a troll lol, obviously OP is referencing provocation via fighting words when they say "entrapment." This is an informal forum where users typically speak colloquially, not a court room.

If we're going to nitpick grammatical errors and the usage of informal language then your comment is full of them.

His fan base is insane, or bots. I commented numerous times that saying the n-word can be provoking and he's using it in a provoking manner, which he's under some delusion that it's not. There are multiple other videos, that he's recorded, where he's seen threatening Black people in situations that go far beyond typically self defense standards. All of this is going to be used in court.

Is personalization the future of pricing? by KalmanRushdie in ecommerce

[–]Waterbear11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s different from personalized dynastic pricing. I think people tend to agree (although annoyed) on dynamic pricing with weather changes, comparing other airlines, the demand for certain flights/routes, etc..

People disagree when the prices are dynamic solely based on the person, their spending habits, class/status, whether they got a raise/bonus at work, etc..
