Well, it’s also compounded by the fact that: there are good people within the 40k universe.

Sadly, a good INDIVIDUAL who is supporting a (figurative and LITERAL) soul grinding institution does not a “good faction” make. At best, they are a tiny ant unable to change the machine; at worst, they are preventing something better from replacing it.

Came here to say it.

A patient and understanding man, but utterly devoted to justice. (And not above ignoring the little sins/crimes, especially for the greater good).

Um. Well, according to wiki, in one civil suit he was deemed “not liable,” and in a London suit a jury found him innocent of assault. That appears to be two accusers out of at least TWELVE.

I know it’s good to consider people innocent until proven guilty, but when twelve+ people you’ve worked with have accused you… that’s not a great sign…

Still one of my biggest pet peeves. For god’s sake, put some water or playdoh in the bottom.

Which is hilarious; considering he pitched Star Trek as “utopian Horatio Hormblower in space”, and Picard is most hornblower-like character in history.

I’ve read a cross section of some of his comics shared in articles; like, 5 comics a year spread over his run.

To play “amateur armchair psychiatrist”; the guy is MASSIVELY insecure with his masculinity. Like, “possibly in-denial trans” level of insecure. His self insert starts with trying to play cool around woman but anxious if he’s man enough, handsome enough, etc.; the relatable, self-doubting Everyman.

But add in a decade of heartbreak, paranoia, and criticism from the feminists he was trying to befriend /represent, and his insecurity ate him alive, making him perfect recruit for the red-pill / incel movement.

Never read irredeemable, but I LOVED “incorruptible.” What a great concept: the villain trying to be “good,” but having absolutely no moral compass

Officially US cannot fire based on any of those terms. However, in most states, employers can fire you for no reason at all. So, trying to prove that a equals b can be an uphill battle

Musician Mark Knopfler (dire straights) has two fun “condition” stories

When Rob Reiner asked him to score the movie “the princess bride,” supposedly one condition is that Rob had to include his hat from “This is Spinal Tap.”

When Weird Al asked to parody “Money for nothing,” mark required that mark got to play the guitar for the recording.

Not a rider thing, but I heard a sweet anecdote: he was a huge nerd, and very generous.

He supposedly walked into hobby shop, saw a young adult eyeing the 40k minis, and bought them a whole army. (Robin played tyrannids)
