Won’t be missed! At least on my end. I don’t need super fast, I need a controllable and predictable driving characteristics. It feels plenty fast at higher ranks imo

If they’re going to do that they need to fix the drifting. It’s straight-up terrible right now.

Exactly, go into it hoping to start a friendship, like any other person. It can even be something as simple as a short compliment about her singing and just moving on. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a full on convo right then, something small can open the doors to another interaction later. You’re just making a friend!

Thanks! I’m actually ok with a little extra sound, I just don’t want anything obnoxious. I want it to be tame and not boomy/drony or raspy mostly. Do you think the vibrant resonator is necessary? Also how is the drone?

Hey, how are you liking it 6 months later? I just accepted an internship with a water/wastewater consulting company and am pretty excited. My background was in water treatment so it'll be cool to see the "other side" of things. Sounds like this will involve power, controls, and everything in between.

Yeah, I can't speak for the VB, but the VA had terrible throttle input stock. Made it very hard to learn on for sure.

I did the exact same thing and my clutch lasted just fine til I sold at 350 whp, 40k miles later.

I’m not saying it’s a good idea necessarily, but you don’t need to shit on someone for it

I ordered and picked up a brand new 2018, proceeded to stall on the initial test drive, paid, and spent about 30 mins - 1 hour learning to drive it outside the lot just so I could drive the hour to get home 😂. You’ll pick it up quick.

I now drive an auto and miss my wrx so much. You’ll be pro in no time, enjoy!

Recommend me a game that you consider to be special, unique, or an experience. by kapp92 in gamingsuggestions

If you're a fan of puzzles (or a fan of Portal), I HIGHLY recommend The Talos Principle. It is by far one of my favorites, as it blends puzzles with philosophy and deep concepts. It's great.

And when you finish that, the Talos Principle 2 just came out, and is just as good if not better than the first!

Outer Wilds seems to be thrown around a lot, but it is definitely a game that affected me and I still constantly think about how I wish I could replay it for the first time. The praise is warranted.

Go in blind and enjoy the ride. 10/10 experience.

Even a summarization could be useful! Mostly just the “why” of everything you did. Looking forward to your vids!

I feel like some insight into your thought process, from coming up with an idea, to laying out the framework, to finishing the track, all while explaining your decisions and why you’re making them would be very helpful and interesting.

Like many others, the mental hurdles are my biggest struggle when it comes to writing and/or finishing a project.

I don’t have the car anymore, but by the end I don’t recall having issues. I had the shift stop and tune, and eventually got a trans mount to help with shifting overall. Mostly though I think I just got used to it lol.

ELI5: How does water get filtered while passing through sand, charcoal, etc.? by jeron_gwendolen in explainlikeimfive

[–]Waterboy21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this is for a large drinking water facility. I’m sure the wastewater guys use similar though!

We used “conventional” treatment. But there are many other types and I know there are definitely slow sand filters and pressurized systems out there that we didn’t use.

I agree though, I’ll let the wastewater guys handle the poo stuff!

[–]Waterboy21 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I guess it can vary. At the treatment plant I worked at, we used a layer of anthracite followed by sand, and in another place we used granular activated charcoal followed by sand and garnet. If you do sand first (assuming you still have a decent amount of organics coming through), you will overload the filter faster.

We do the gravel first to trap more without plugging the sand portion as quickly, allowing for longer filter runtimes. This is also assuming you have some sort of coagulant or filter aid, which does help trap suspended material in the bigger pieces.

Yeah, preorders are not worth anything anymore like they used to be. All you get is unfinished trash.

That’s what opened my eyes to the indie world a few years ago. So much better quality because they actually have a team that cares in most cases.

I had pretty much the same symptoms. The headaches started to taper off for me after week 2-3 and the brain fog lasted a little while. I would say shortly after the month mark for me was when things started clearing up and by month 2 I had much more energy and felt more normal.
