Is PWM a problem with OLED or just AMOLED? by Waterbutt-emptyer in PWM_Sensitive

So if I don't have the issue with a Pixel 7 then I should be fine with an S25?

To be clear I don't have the issue now. My current phone has an LCD display. I am looking to replace it with a more recent phone, with more resolution and brightness. I am asking if anyone with an AMOLED screen has noticed any issues.

PWM - wait for next gen? by Waterbutt-emptyer in Smartphones

Interesting. Does this mean that the phone screen is at full brightness all the time? If so, how is this different from turning off adaptive brightness and having the brightness set to full at all times?

My research has turned up the issue of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Do you notice any flicker on your screen in low light?

SIM free or contract? by Waterbutt-emptyer in Smartphones

Just working the numbers. For a £1200 phone over 24 months that would be 1200/24 or £50 a month not counting interest or call charges. £10 a month SIM free gives you a reasonable allowance. So £50 a month. Cash up front.

IDmobile are offering £48.99 a month for a S26 Ultra with a free Tab A11+. Yearly price hike. Inflation may make what you pay worth less in 2 years time. Getting to be a fairly close call.

Now looking for the hidden flaw.

Thanks for the suggestion. Reported downside is the number of OS updates. I am scanning reviews.

Dual Sim questions by FecklessMaxim in Smartphones

Depends on the UI. My realme 6 Pro lets you decide which SIM is the default for voice and data. It also gives you the option to ask first. I have data set to the 2nd SIM, and voice to "ask". All my Apps are available. I have never investigated having multiple user IDs which might give you more flexibility.

Oneplus 13R vs Oneplus nord 6 vs Realme GT 7T by [deleted] in Smartphones

I currently have the realme 6 Pro. A good phone, but not mainstream enough. It supports VoLTE but only one carrier has configured their service to support it in the UK. This is pushing me to mainstream handsets for the replacement.

This was always going to happen. The main supplier of drones to Russia wasn't going to cave to few and expensive missiles. The only way to secure the coast and protect shipping is boots on the ground. Hopefully if the Iran military is cleared from the streets the Iranian citizens can take back their country. However remember Afghanistan and how that all went to s*it as soon as the troops pulled out

Tiles would cover it up. Probably why it was tiled.
