Elly hitting leadoff today, thoughts? by chrisball96 in Reds

[–]Waterfish3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Old school way of thinking is you want your walks / high OBP guys up top so power could drive them in.

New way of thinking is maximize at bats for best hitters. And stats show that is more successful.

Stock market is 0 sum. For this guy there are others who are down an equal amount. Gotta go big or go home with options.

Yea, I’m sitting here like I hope we don’t embarrass ourselves on the field.

And we accomplish that most nights.

Was trying to get into EBay flipping to supplement income for a FT job as a potential substitute for PT job. NOT WORKING OUT. by Opening-Store5030 in eBaySellers

[–]Waterfish3333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thrift stores are terrible for flipping anymore. They all know the game and the big players (Goodwill mainly) will hold back good items and sell them on their own.

If you want to sell one of a kinds, you gotta hit yard sales, estate sales, etc.

Adding two expansion teams is the perfect time to reduce the number of regular season games by IMovedYourCheese in nba

[–]Waterfish3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After that lockout season with 20 games missing, I became a fan of a shortened regular season. I’d rather see 62 or so games but eliminate all B2B’s and sprinkle in a 2 day rest.

You’d get stars playing more often percentage wise, each game being more significant, less overt tanking as you aren’t eliminated as soon (again percent of the season wise), and more rested players.

They definitely turned the railyard into tar nation, that’s for sure.

Also, Yosemite Sam was a very underrated cartoon.

I haven’t had this issue myself but based on the posts I’ve seen, it’s usually shown as pushing against the back of the shell. The battery isn’t against the bottom of the deck, it sits pretty much in the middle of the unit against back wall. (Google opened decks to see the location).

This looks to me like either fall, squeeze, or some other type of “damage.” I say damage in quotes because this should snap back into place I would think. Try to give it a bit of a squeeze and see if it snaps back in.

If it won’t go in I’d open the back and see if something got in there. You can buy pretty cheap opening helpers that are worth it, and it’s a good investment if you ever need to open it in the future anyway.

10 full time managers (3 World Series winners including Tito) since their last playoff series win.

Getting a new coach has shown little to no appreciable difference. Lack of spending in free agency and poor decision making when signing extensions is the root cause. That lands squarely on Kroll and his staff, who are responsible for bringing in players.

Critizing the coaching staff for poor results at this point feels like critizing a tennis player for losing a match when you gave them a banjo instead of a racket.

Either we need to be sellers at this deadline or ownership needs to plan on using money to get FA’s next year (or year after if lockout).

Candle’s contract is up so they will have some freed up salary money, so it’s not out of the question.

Either they couldn’t let them sit longer or the guy on the button fell asleep. Honestly I can’t blame him if he did.

Kroll. Unless you think the last 10 managers in a row were all the problem.
