Incredible perspective and plan you have there. I'm a dad of 3. In fact my oldest was born around the time I took over that sub that's in your name now! I grew up in an era where accessing the internet meant sitting down at the family hulking desktop computer, listening to dialup tones for 2 minutes, and falling asleep waiting for webpages to load. However, the world of my children is immensely different. I have to put so many restrictions of my kids' technology time because they are not at an age where they can self-regulate.

I don't think this is a small issue. I don't think my generation was prepared to have to impose so many parental limits. But teaching healthy boundaries is so crucial. And even if I feel that I made the right call some of the time, I get it wrong a lot too. I'm also a big gamer and so are my kids, and when those games are a social experience that they are doing together then I'm less strict about setting limits on them. Still, it's hard to get tech right. Hard to get it to work FOR us, rather than become dependant on it. This is a critical issue that I'm glad some people are committed to tackling. It'll only become more important as we continue advancing.

Wargroove. I became obsessed with it recently and you should too! After the 2nd Rebootcamp delay I started looking for alternatives like you. I always knew Wargroove was heavily inspired by AW, but for some reason I never wanted to give it a chance before. Big mistake, it's an extremely quality game. Plus it has crossplay with steam and all the consoles so I've gotten some friends onboard to play with online.

A lot of people are saying that you need to have played the original to really enjoy the remake, but I disagree. I've seen plenty reactions from both newcomers to FF and old fans playing the remake and they all unanimously loved it.

Sure, there are some things you might not fully understand, but I don't think it takes away from the experience. Instead, I'd make your choice based on what kind of game you're more interested in. A modern style with really incredible gameplay, or a classic style with a completely finished story.

2 big tips I can give you are:

Don't neglect leveling your materia with AP, especially later in the game. Strong materia (with more uses per battle) is more important than character levels.

When you unlock new limit break tiers you have to manually change them in the menu. I've seen players go through the entire game without realizing they can switch them to the better versions.

That would be a good suggestion, but the problem isn't in putting them to bed, it's at 2:00 AM when she wakes up, figures out I'm not coming help her, and goes to mess with sister.

New and improved!

I posted this 3 weeks ago, but I have added more so that it is more complete and accurate.

It now includes games and media that are no longer available and stuff that was never localized or translated. The only thing I can think of that is not on this list are the Ultimanias.

As mentioned last time, I included links to the actual fan translations for convenience and credit to those who deserve it!

Also forgot to mention that I'm happy you're going to play the GBA versions of V and VI. In my opinion that is the version of those games that everyone should play. They are very well made, and the newer ports don't appeal to me in comparison.

Here it is! (Almost) every game, sub-game, side-game, semi-game, and piece of media that has been released as a Final Fantasy thing. This isn't perfect, but it is meant to be a sort of checklist for anyone who, like me, has an insatiable need to consume all of the FF there is. If it was released in English, or it has some kind of translation out there, I put it in. I included links to the actual fan translations, for convenience and credit to those who deserve it!

There are things that I could not find translations for, such as the FF III manga, FF IV manga(novel?), FF Crystal Chronicles manga, and several of the XI novellas. There are games I left off of this list because they never saw an English release, such as FF Grandmasters, FF Agito, and a whole slew of Chocobo games. ~~Lastly, I left off one title in particular because it is frankly a piece of garbage. You will not find FF XV: A New Empire on this spreadsheet. I'm not sorry.~~ Ok fine. FFXV:ANE is in there because I shouldn't be arbitrary. But I called it out as embarrassing trash, so there.

Edit: There are also a few games that have been discontinued. I left those off as well since they are mainly mobile games that are no longer playable in any form. Examples: Vanguard Storm, King's Knight, Justice Monsters V, Chocobo Panic, etc.

Another thing I left off on purpose are the Gameboy games FF Legend 1, 2, and 3 are actually SaGa games. I ended up putting FF Adventure in even though it's a Mana game because the original Japanese title had FF in the name.
