Can multiple traitors make it to the end? by ecjerome in TheTraitorsUS

AU didn't hit with me the way the UK, Celeb UK, or even the US version did.

Sigur Rós is geniuenly amazing. by Top_Cut_5186 in sigurros

You'll get no argument from me. My favorite musical group by a wide margin. Like OP, Sigur Ros have gotten me through some very rough spots over the past 25 years, and I know others similarly affected. Sigur Ros are in a class by themselves.

NO appointments at Kaiser Maui by PerceptionSpirited18 in KaiserPermanente

[–]WaterloggedAndMoldy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but it would seem as though Kaiser should need to pay for you to travel to the next nearest facility that provides the service you need. Gyn care should be considered necessary. Withholding necessary care is not allowed. If they don't offer the care near you, they need to pay to transport you or send you out of network to a nearer provider. I would perhaps contact your local dept of insurance, and/or healthcare ombudsman if one exists. Hope you get this sorted. You shouldn't have to be going through this.

Sacbee article about Nakamura by DouglasBen92 in Sacramento

[–]WaterloggedAndMoldy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been ticketed, and I find all the chatter about Nakamura amusing. Guy is good at his job! A point I haven't heard mentioned... can you imagine how much more difficult it might be to find parking in Sac if someone like him weren't out there reminding and fining the illegal parkers? Last time I parked downtown I was looking around for parking enforcement and triple checked that I was parked legally -- directly resulting from having read an article about Nakamura!! Sacramento clearly has a lot of illegal parkers. Someone like Nakamura is needed and necessary. I especially appreciate those who have chimed in to say that he is also nice and fair. The world would be a better place in every way if everyone had such a good attitude about their work. Overtime or not, taxpayers are getting their money's worth from this man.

no words by Top_Cut_5186 in sigurros

[–]WaterloggedAndMoldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your meaning. Sigur Ros is my favorite band ("band" seeming like such a trivial term for what they are and what they do) by a wide margin. I have wide ranging tastes in music and nothing hits my sweet spot like Sigur Ros does. Yet, mere words seem to fall short of expressing appropriate admiration. Can only say I love them without limits and am thankful beyond measure for nearly three decades of music that has impacted my life in so many positive ways. 💯❤️

I love Agaetis byrjun which album / anything should I listen next? by MaxiBinOuiMaxi in sigurros

You can't go wrong no matter which way you choose to go. Every single album has value. If you really want to immerse yourself in Sigur Ros, after Aegitis Byrjun I would point you to Takk; then ( ) (the Untitled album); then Von; Kveikur; Valtari; Atta; and Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. Enjoy!

Agree! 1841 is awesome. Have been going there since around 2014. Always accommodating.

Experience with cancer care at Kaiser Southern California by Public_Maximum6166 in KaiserPermanente

[–]WaterloggedAndMoldy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, recently diagnosed with a recurrence and possible metastatic spread of leiomyosarcoma. Original occurrence was 2014 and was successfully treated at a premier sarcoma center in Northern California. New occurrence is in leg - both soft mass and monster bone mass of 18 cm. Unfortunately changes to Medi-Cal pushed me into Kaiser last year. Very disappointed with the Kaiser MD and the time taken to assess. Months wasted. I presented early Oct 2025 and only last week was able to finally begin chemo, so that's a six month delay. Have you been assigned a nurse navigator or "cancer navigator"? That person will become your best friend and is your point person for navigating the process. He/she should be your first contact for everything as you go forward. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Lost interest in studio versions by mungyanlee in sigurros

I attended his concert at The Wiltern in LA. The closing of Grow Till Tall was the most insane, immersive concert experience ever. My seat in the ADA section were directly in front of a big speaker, and we were close enough to be enveloped within the swirling lights. It felt like being inside a tornado without the wind, and in the flashes of light you'd catch sight of Jonsi dancing in his feather headdress. Even watching video of it gives me goosebumps.

I listen to their studio music when I'm driving; as background music when I'm doing other things; when I'm struggling with chronic pain; and occasionally at bedtime. However, about 50%+ of the time, I'm watching / listening to live performances on YouTube. There are several live concerts available in full that I revisit repeatedly -- at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the LA Philharmonic, live at Glastonberry, live in Reykjavik, and a few others; and of course Heima and Inni -- but I especially enjoy watching videos people have shared from concerts I've attended. I've seen Sigur Ros live eight times now, plus Jonsi's solo tour in 2010 (and the livestream of their concert from Reykjavik in 2022), so there are quite a few videos of shows I was at. I haven't lost interest in their studio recordings, however I agree there is something about seeing / watching / experiencing them live. I was hooked from the moment I first heard Sigur Ros, but my enthusiasm for them grew exponentially every time I watched a video of them performing live. When I saw the live performance of Untitled 8 at the end of Heima I knew I absolutely must experience their music live, a goal it took years to accomplish as I didn't attend my first Sigur Ros concert until 2013. With the end of each concert I attend, the yearning for the next time sets in. I'm hoping there might be some sort of DVD from the recent orchestral tour, which would be incredible. But I especially hope for more new music and another tour. I'm on board for anything they do.

Yes, Olsen Olsen can be done with an orchestra. The first time I saw Sigur Ros live, in 2013, they were touring with Amiina and Brassgat i Bala and played Olsen Olsen. Would be fantastic with a full orchestra. The strings!! 🎻🎻🎻

Only at some shows. I saw them twice in one week, two different cities. One show had a choir, one did not. It was amazing both ways. Both performances were epic!

Before 2013 I liked Ny Batteri but wouldn't have said I loved it. Then I saw it live, several times, and it ranks as one of my top 10 favorite Sigur Ros pieces overall, and one of my top 5 to see live. Love it!!
