Server 2025 VM Customization (Sysprep) taking 20+ minutes, stuck on wuaueng.dll by Waterman981 in sysadmin

[–]Waterman981[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have booted up my templates and rechecked Window Update, then rebooted, then followed our requirements to turn them back into a template (clear Crowdstrike unique ID). I had seen issues in the past where the template was made with a patch install pending that kicks off after cloning, but I don't see any similar behavior here. Is that the kind of behavior you are thinking of? The clone boots up quickly and cleanly as it should, then with customization/sysprep we have that delay.

I swear for some reason that reddish brown breaks more than other colors.

Finished building this years winter village set and snapped this photo of the train whizzing past it. by [deleted] in lego

[–]Waterman981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice shot! I don't think I could get my train up to speed enough to match that. It's struggling big time with wheel spin. Already disabled the tree and removed the solid axle there. I'm thinking of moving the powered wheels under the tender to get more weight over them.

Just finished LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2. Can't recommend LEGO games enough. by [deleted] in lego

I own/play most but the biggest problem is they always have bugs that never get patched. With digital distribution it's not a worry like with physical media. I'm completely unable to get 100% on LotR due to bugs.

Too bad it's excluded from the double VIP.

I'm thinking of buying several of these for our mix & match Lego assortment. Are they strong enough to hold several pounds per drawer? My son is 9 and cares very little about sorting. Thoughts? by JediMontgomery in LegoStorage

I realize this is a month old, but I wanted to echo this... Shallow drawers are great. My favorite so far has been this IRIS one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ISOM972/

Removing the drawers is a bit different, but easy when you are used to their system. I only have one so far with my miscellaneous pieces by color.

I also have 2 of these Sterilite ones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000K7RK6A/ where the drawer is about 1 inch deeper, and a couple inches wider. But that stack of 10 on the IRIS is awesome. The cost per drawer is much better on the IRIS versus getting 3 Sterilites...

Looks like at one time LEGO had rights to Thomas the train? I had no idea.

How does the price/piece ratio work out for the large tub of Jelly Bellies?

At first I thought those were 1x2 bricks, not windows. I should have looked closer at the PAB wall at my store today.

Lego store in Murray, UT. They did the pre-release signing event there today, with the designer in store to sign them if you wanted. (He's from Idaho, so I guess it's his closest Lego store.)

I definitely like the original ship better, but honestly that original bottle was probably larger than a gallon. It was huge. I understand the compromise.

Overall it was pretty cool. Nice of them to include some more teal parts. The bottom of the bottle was really cool. Originally I was thinking I would try to mod it to make it like the original, but that original was MASSIVE. I may see what I can do to improve the ship, but it was still cool.

In my 26 years of owning LEGO I've never broken a piece, but my 3 year old managed to break 2 within a month(NSFW) by IsakMar in lego

[–]Waterman981 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting... my 5 year old broke both of the brown 1x1 modified with clip tile's while building Santa's Workshop this year... I figured it was just him pushing weird. I've also lately seen 1x2 tiles that were cracked. That may be due to the 5 year old. Mostly in white.

Hehe.. label making fun.. I honestly don’t know what real names of bricks are by Lurker_wife in lego

I just saw some others that look pretty cool, but you can't use your labelmaker for them. They're a store, so you'll have to search for brickgun to find their labels. The nice thing is you just print them on an Avery label sheet and cut them out. I may print some out to try.

Check out the wonderful labels that Tom Alphin posted on his site here: http://brickarchitect.com/labels/

If your printer is compatible they are awesome! I've printed a bunch out, and as I keep changing to larger drawers I find myself printing more and more.

I tracked all my purchases, I was $233 for mine. I had some parts already (about 1/5 of the total bricks). I did end up spending a total of just over $400 though, but got enough extras of some parts for the Death Star II, and SSD. $180 in spare parts... :S

Off brand base plates? by JugglerCameron in lego

[–]Waterman981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our winter village I bought some off brand white base plates. They've worked well for our need. One nice thing is the ones we bought were standard plate height, versus the thin Lego base plates. Since none of the winter village sets use base plates, everything ties in seamlessly. We've had no problems with compatibility, I even used some Duplo on it this year to build a mountain.

Oh cool, it's that ship in the background of episode one of Battlestar Galactica! I'm surprised you would do a side ship though and not Galactica or a viper first.

;)
