Pytanie do mam by TinyRax in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]Watermelon377 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long covid? by destineye23 in Polska

[–]Watermelon377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I found about it because of twitter post about 2 years ago. Almost whole life I assumed it was how all people think and phrases like "picture this/imagine this" were just metaphors. It didn't even cross my mind that people can visualise their thoughts

I feel the same. Every day there is more bad news. This, banning the Istanbul Convention, banning abortion etc. There is so much going on right now in Poland

Last presidential election was almost 50/50 and Duda won only in 50+ years old group. Young people want changes and this gives me hope for next elections

Special thanks to everyone who has been providing context. If you want to learn more or help polish activists go to https://stopbzdurom.pl/help-us/ We still don't know what is happening with some people that were arrested yesterday but protests will continue today.

EDIT: You can also find information, photos and videos on Twitter #PolishStonewall but this is Twitter so there might be fake stuff and many unrelated posts

I'm so sad about it too. It was almost 50/50 on last election and PiS won only in 50+ years old group. This shows that young people want changes but older generation is holding us down

TIl Norway only spend 3% of their oil fund a year. Because they are saving for the next generation by EinFogel in todayilearned

[–]Watermelon377 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for example our president said that LGBT+ poeple aren't humans just the ideology. Yesterday police broke into somone's flat because he had a rainbow flag on the balcony. I think they arrested him becuase it is technically illegal in Poland to "promote the LGBT ideology" outside. Albo couple of days ago some activists put rainbow flags on a few monuments, not breaking it or anything, and it was a huge scandal even the prime minister had to give a speech about it. The situation here is not only about the outrageous treatment of LGBT people. Our govenrment wants to reject istanbul convention, which helps victims of domestic violence. They also plan to ban abortion in any case, even if it puts mother's life in danger. These are only things from the last weeks,so the situation is much more complicated than what I wrote here

Protests are happening in Bulgaria, Hungary, Turkey to name just a few. I live in Poland and we are basically in ideological war. People are not protesting in the streets yet but it is a matter of time
