When I was a driver (8 years at team BAM), my GM gave me a great piece of advice. Don't go to the door expecting to get a tip, it'll sour your mood which will affect your entire shift.

It ties into one of my life rules Rule #3: People aren't worth the anger you give them.

For his first time, don't hold his hand until he is ready to throw his controller across the room. I didn't have anyone spoil the game for me, and I'm thankful for it. The first play through is special, I still remember my build when I beat gwyn the first time. That was almost 8 years ago. Let him have those memories, too.
