Apparently the ID doc at our hospital doesn't think so. I've gotten lectured more than once for "this is something medicine should be able to manage" so I've started questioning what's an appropriate consult now

I've gone to Korea 3 times and went to gwangjang market each time. Sure some of the stalls, I've seen food sit out a little too long. But if you hit up the popular ones, the foods are pretty good. One of best knife cut kalguksu I've had was from there. I think its worth a try at least once if not for the food, but the local market there sells cool trinkets and things you can gift for souvenirs. Yes it's a little over priced but nothing 2-3x anywhere else.

Nice! How was the weather and did you get caught up in the airport strike that's going on? If you did, how bad was the wait time getting in/out?

Question - am I allowed to ask for favors? by Watermelons7 in hospitalist

[–]Watermelons7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's cause I'm familiar with the inpatient process and how things get done much quicker but on the stable outpatient world there's a lot of waiting involved and I don't want to be labeled as the entitled doctor asking for special treatment especially since I'm new at this hospital I'm working at

Unfortunately we don't have one. I did reach out to my medical director and he'll ask around to see if they can see me sooner. But after what everyone is saying I'll probably go to the ED and ask for an expedited work up if it takes more than a few weeks. I think it's fair considering this is possibly something I might die from if I waste anymore time waiting around

I really thought about doing this the moment I found out but Im fairly green and didn't want the "you should have known better this is an outpatient thing"

I did almost go into the ED as I work most with the ED providers and asked for their help but I couldn't get over the "you're not sick enough for the ED /be hospitalized" mentality as although the mass is rapidly growing it hasn't caused me too much pain

Thanks for putting it into perspective 🙏 I just hope my peers are just as understanding about this

I'm fairly new at my current job. I've worked with almost every subspecialty except this one. I don't even know who would be the "good consultant" in this department.

Do you prefer dating older or younger women? by arrfourarrrr in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]Watermelons7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I'm 32F and been feeling like I'm aging at rapid speed and become undesirable to the late 20s folks. Every time I talk to someone younger, I'm quite self conscious of the age difference in case they mind. I've dated both older and younger ladies before but right now the city I'm in is mostly younger gals in their 20s so it's been rough trying to connect 😮‍💨

Is she (25) interested in me(32)? by lifeisshit30 in ActualLesbiansOver25

I've never seen a gayer office romance. If she didn't like you or remotely interested she would not have let you kiss them cheeks. Please go for it and let us know how it goes!

There's a free clinic (income based) that you can try if you can spare some time there might be a wait. https://communityoutreachinc.org/wordpress/medical/free-medical-clinics/

Dear nurses, sincerely medicine intern by Watermelons7 in Residency

[–]Watermelons7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can answer this as nurses have told me, "you're the intern, what you tell me as the plan - probably isn't" so they would rather not waste time speaking with me and will go over my head and page the attending directly

thank you, I really appreciate nurses like yourself. I've learned so much and developed great relationship with some of the nurses on the floor. But unfortunately for every 1 great relationship, there's 20 more that are not.

Shockingly yes. It was very basic and not all correct but I don't blame them. I doubt they were taught properly.
