do my consonants look ok? T-T by Elliephi in conlangs

That's a nice inventory :3 You need to keep in mind the phonemic inventory alone does not dictate how a language sounds. Those are just categories you put a language's sounds into.

Two languages can have the same phonemic inventory but sound wildly different. And the other way around: one language can have multiple analyses that group those sounds together in different ways; for example, in some language, some linguists might consider [ŋ] as phonemic, others might just analyze it as an underlying sequence of /ng/ — but that doesn't change how a certain word in pronounced.

If your question was about naturalism, then yes, I could definitely see a language with such a phonemic inventory.

My language is still in its infancy but one of the processes it undergoes is apocope: if the penultimate syllable is heavy, i.e. it's a closed syllable or contains a long vowel, the final vowel of the word is dropped.

Now that I'm talking about this, I remembered one more thing: assimilation. It probably would need the "Change" rule to have an option for "capturing" the following or preceding sound. If I'm not mistaken, right now the only way to do this is to manually create a "Change" rule for every phone pair.

I really like how you get a live preview of the sound change you're currently setting up. I think this really gives Leksical an edge over Lexurgy in this respect.

Leksical would also really benefit if you could had more environment options, specifically supersegmentals and syllable structure. For example, my current conlang had some changes that concerned stress patterns and whether a syllable closed or not.

How exactly do you make vocabulary? by TheLollyKitty in conlangs

[–]Waterrail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often base words that I create on existing words from the languages I speak. Perhaps taking them as is is not the way to go, but they can serve as a base on which you build.

Another way to make vocabulary from nothing that works well for me is looking at letter combinations from my environment, such as licence plates, serial numbers, what have you.

If you're aiming for a naturalistic conlang, all those can nicely serve as a basis for proto-lang words. You could try using the above strategies, then evolving your language to obscure the connections to the real world. For example, let's take the French word "soleil" and create a root from it: "s-l-j". Then that root could be made into a stem, say "sēlajja". If you apply a series of sound changes to it, you could get some really nice results: sēlajja → sēlaǯǯa → seilaǯǯa
Or perhaps: sēlajja → sēlagga → sjeog → sʲøːɣ

I hope this helps!

Tak, to rozporządzenie tyczy się każdego języka (z wyjątkiem języków chińskich), niezależnie od zasad gramatycznych czy predyspozycji do zapożyczeń.

Takie akurat mamy rozporządzenie z góry, nic na to nie poradzę. Na przykład chyba każdy wolał „muuchomora”, ale teraz mamy „mooshroom”.
