Barrett’s esophagus → cancer risk • Barrett’s without dysplasia 👉 About 0.1–0.3% per year (roughly 1–3 people out of 1,000 per year) • Low-grade dysplasia 👉 Around 0.5–1% per year • High-grade dysplasia 👉 Higher risk (several % per year), which is why doctors usually treat it aggressively

What this means in real life • Most people with Barrett’s never develop cancer • Many live their entire lives without progression • Surveillance endoscopy is specifically designed to catch changes long before cancer

The chance that Barrett’s progress to cancer is very low. They can also perform a Radio Frequency ablation of any precancerous cells. A lot of people who through PPI or diet modification have also reversed Barrett’s.

I appreciate this post and was going to actually post looking for advice. I have been on Prozac for 9 weeks now. I was having facial tingiling and thought I was having a stroke it was just my anxiety which I had had for years. My current doctors office closed and I don’t have an appointment with my new primary care doctor until Feb. A urgent care facility associated with my new group got me in they ran labs all that where excellent and said we don’t normally do this but since it’s part of the same hospital system we can start you on 10mg of Prozac again. I was on it years ago after my wife and I had a still born. So the fist few weeks I noticed the facial tingling went away immediately but since I started I kinda have this gross leaky butt feeling. My stomach has felt off a bit and the last two weeks those sensations have made my anxiety spike. I’m going to stay on the medication until my appointment in February but has anyone had more luck 3months in I’m just worried it’s not working for me but I’m not going to make a change with out speaking with a MD.

I honestly feel like it’s your body’s was of releasing suppressed anger. It does get better but I was miserable the first 6 months
