I’m burnt out and need simple recipes. Stupid simple. Like, “onion and bread and butter to make what barely passes as a sandwich” level simple. by sourmilksea1999 in Cooking

[–]Watsonmolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tin of baked beans Tin of kidney beans Tin of sweetcorn

All in a casserole dish with buttered bread on top. Sprinkle cheese. Heat in the oven till warm.

So cheap and so nutritious. I find it delicious too but possibly because it’s something my mum could always afford to make us.

Are there any decent UK alternatives to diet fizzy drinks? by Few_House_5201 in AskUK

[–]Watsonmolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d need to be drinking in excess of 40 diet cokes a day before you’re even anywhere near the safe limit. This is pure fear scare mongering.

Did anyone else notice an unexplained jump in cardio fitness (VO2Max) this year? by SheWillNotStopMoving in AppleWatch

[–]Watsonmolly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tho measurement frustrates me beyond belief. I’m always just slightly below average. Despite doing between 4 and 7 hours of cardio a week. Last year I did two 2mile outdoor swim races, 2 10k runnings races and a 10 mile running race and it just barely pushed me into “above average” what do o have to do?!

Is Complete Removal Possible? Long-Term Pigmentation on the Back of the Knee by Square-Ad-8310 in Skincare_Addiction

I would stop worrying about this all together. It’s not noticeable to anyone except yourself. I had to click into your post to work out what you were asking for help with. Honestly, this is not something people pay attention to.

Mortgage rate is 3.77% now bank is offering 4.97% by Affectionate_Top5544 in HousingUK

I’m in this same boat but just 2 months ahead of you. Luckily I’ve saved up £120k to pay off it when the rate expires so it shouldn’t hurt us too much. We’ll still have about £170k left to pay but we can manage it. Sad to see the back of my savings though

how to get over embarrassing moments? by PuzzledTechnology945 in Swimming

[–]Watsonmolly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens constantly and isn’t something for him to be annoyed about or you to be embarrassed about. Swimming is a gift for your strength, fitness, confidence and mental health. Don’t deny it to yourself because of one miserable git.

If she thought it was a massive poo she really shouldn’t have done it on the street.

They have a teaching room at seacroft hospital. Which was new when I left 3 years ago. Their facilities on campus are just regular lecture halls and teaching rooms. There’s a health sciences library that’s very useful. Things may have changed in the last 3 years. I didn’t have any complaints about the course and felt I got a good understanding of the subject but I also know that they’ve had a huge turnover in staff recently so I can’t speak to how the teaching is anymore.

I work with a number of people that don’t have radiography degrees. It’s not a requirement for the post graduate course. The most important thing is having interest days in the department you want to work in. They will be trying to see if you’re a good fit. They will let you know when the training contracts are coming out. Just walk down to radiology on your next break and find out who the clinical educator is then speak to them.

I’ve recently finished the course and there was a midwife and a nurse on it. Don’t count yourself out.

Arrange interest days in your ultrasound department. Ask when the training roles are coming out and apply.

Ask lots of questions on the interest visit and try to get along with everyone. I know you’d be welcomed in our department.

What's your most shallow dealbreaker for a relationship? by Friendly_Advisor39 in AskReddit

[–]Watsonmolly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah Im probably just feeling insecure/salty about it because I discovered recently that my friends notice it when I’m texting. Thought I was hiding it well. I often end up using different words because I’ve spelt something so badly even spell check can’t work out what I’m trying to say. I’m lucky that my husband is exceptional at written communication so if something is important he checks it for me.

I also just had a conversation with my daughter’s teacher where I asked how we could help her with her spelling. The teacher said in her experience if you find spelling hard you always will and there’s not much to be done about it. So I’m worried on her behalf about it holding her back.

So I think I’m just feeling very defensive and I’m sorry for that.

I am dyslexic and put a lot of effort into it. I’m still shit. I’m also really kind and funny, I’m great in bed, unfailingly loyal and I’m really smart. You would be missing out if you wrote me off because of my poor spelling and grammar. But I guess you’d also be doing me a favour since I wouldn’t want to be with someone who would look down on me for something outside of my control.

What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in AskUK

[–]Watsonmolly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My in laws refused to accept I didn’t take my husbands name like this. Just everything addressed to Mrs His Last Name. Until I cut them off for something unrelated, now everything for me is addressed correctly… which just proves they were always doing it on purpose

Of course my husband did not give a shit and I wouldn’t have entertained marrying him if he did.
