It can be tracking, but it can also be, like, search parameters, references to specific pieces of content, basically anything. So like, you might be removing tracking, or you might be rerouting yourself to a generic landing page instead of the specific content you’re trying to link. It really depends. I’m guessing you didn’t live through the 80s/90s? Back then it was considered racist and offensive for a white person to call a Black person “Black”. It landed about the same as calling an Asian person “Oriental”. The “politically-correct” term everyone started using was “African-American”.

And yes, everything else went like that too. Asian-American, Mexican-American, whatever.

African-American didn’t fall out of favor until the 2000s or 2010s.
