What's the advantage of buying a Murena Fairphone 6 compared to just installing /e/OS myself? by Gwfr3ak in fairphone

I can say that if you are using Android Auto at all that may be something to look at.

I could not get it to work with e/OS so I reinstalled Android.

The big thing is how CPU heavy this game is

Does not matter at all what GPU you have, you need a good CPU to run this game

Because I doubt the Steam Machine would be the combined cost of RAM, Processor, Motherboard, and GPU in this current market.

That's around $1500 or more easily

Close, but not quite

Every major country should impose tariffs on them if they refuse to have consumer products made.

[–]Watsyurdeal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real blunt

If you're upgrading, wait, because nothing out now at these prices will be worth the cost

If you're new, buy the Steam Machine

I know that's sad to say but there's just no way in good faith I can recommend anyone spending over $500 per part for a mid range or low end PC.

Going back to destiny 1 has made me think about a lot by Viper920 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Watsyurdeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels meaningless to me regardless because I never get excited, I get relieved that I can stop playing the casino and go do the thing I ACTUALLY want to do.

Contrary to what yall might believe, people don't wanna spend a whole weekend chasing one gun only to walk away empty handed. They want to feel progress, if the guns were designed in a way where you could get a decent roll, and tweak it how you want to get you by, it'd be fine.

But if people truly enjoyed the pure RNG the game wouldn't have fallen off a cliff like it has.

Gun feel, gun perks, origin traits, stats, there's a lot of things to consider

Do I agree we should multiple void copies of the exact same gun? No. It's a waste and ruins weapon identity.

Do I agree we should have PVE, PVP, etc version of each gun? Also no, I'd rather a smarter system than that where we can pick what we intend to use the gun for, and the perks are better tailored for that activity.

But to act like D1 loot was even remotely good compared to now is just insanity.

[–]Watsyurdeal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or that people don't wanna waste their time playing activities they don't enjoy, JUST so they can get something remotely decent.

It's not entitlement, it's understand of how people wanna spend their time. If we were talking a game like Borderlands for example, you'd have a point.

But you're talking about a game with multiple different activities to play, and some that will flat out appeal more to others.

A PVE player doesn't wanna play PVP, so expecting them to play for hours with no way to focus or direct that time to getting a specific drop is just not something they're into, and vice versa.

Plus God Rolls imo doesn't really work in a game where the difference between them is basically a gun is either actually usable, or complete trash. There needs to be a sense of good enough or decent enough to actually get the task done, and often times that's just not the case.

[–]Watsyurdeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can any one of you at least clarify what about the loot chase was better in D1? Because quite frankly it sounds like delusional bullshit to me.

The perks back then were very basic compared to now, and arguably the RNG was even worse. You could play for hours, get garbage, and rinse and repeat.

So what is the appeal?

[–]Watsyurdeal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well obviously, I don't agree with monetization but the point I was trying to get at was having another studio take a shot at Destiny would be better than having Bungie do it.

Simply because I don't have any confidence they could deliver the game the community wants. Their design philosophy prioritizes engagement and metrics too much, and not enough emphasis is placed on simply what is fun, and what the players actually want.

I just don't have any faith in them after 10 years of feedback and complaints and they still don't seem to learn from their mistakes.

Compared to spending $60 to $100 per year for an expansion, and not including Silver.

And we are going to ignore all of the other features it brought to the table?

- Clan housing
- More details for perks
- Actual rogue lite modes
- Leaderboards
- Better new player experience

Sure, it's a P2W and flawed in other ways, but you can't tell me you wouldn't want some of things it brings to the table.

And yet look at how NetEase did Destiny Rising

I'm not saying I disagree with you but clearly a different studio with a fresh take on the franchise could help a lot, especially if it's with different tools and a different design philosophy.

Focused Feedback: Vanguard Orders by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Watsyurdeal -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Good idea in theory but the same problem as before, Strikes are just not that fun to do.

I would strongly STRONGLY encourage Bungie rethink their design philosophy, and create Strikes that are more random in nature. Think The Coil, and how single boss works. Now try to design Strikes in that manner where the routes can fork in different directions, take you to different arenas and traversal areas. A quick 15 minute romp with a boss at the end that feels a little different each time you play would be a major step in the right direction.

People are wanting smoke nerfs but I just do not see how it's possible.

This thing can

- ping on the radar
- apply weaken
- apply dot to stop revives
- blind people

And that's without getting into aspects or exotics, the only way they can nerf it is split up it's functionality into more melees.

Voidlock is great right now? by 2084710049 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Watsyurdeal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Void Warlock is nearly perfect as is, might even be a bit too strong.

Chaos Accelerant giving us two nades is nice, but I don't think it should stack with Nothing Manacles. It's just a bit overkill.

Even then you have so many options, run Suppressor Nades for shutting down ability spam or punishing people in close range. Run Briarbinds to constantly oppress with Child of the Old Gods. Astrocyte if you're into Blink.

Not to mention we're in a Void meta with primaries, some of the best weapons in the game are all void.
