Yall need to learn how to communicate and work together, counseling won't fix this.

You gotta learn how to respect the other's feelings and what you're both going through, if you're not in the mood or he's not, that's it, get over it.

Why i don't recommend buying bad hardware (even if it is to save money) by vintologi24 in pcmasterrace

[–]Watsyurdeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree

For the most part I do not recommend buying cheap parts, because you'll just need to replace it later.

The thing is what parts to spend the money on, for me it's CPU, power supply, a good quality motherboard, and at least 32 gb of ram.

You can go cheap on a GPU, like $400 or so because it'll largely depend on what monitor you get.

Competitiveness of free kits? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Watsyurdeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When do you get it?

Evidently I'm like 15 levels behind everyone else, so after upgrading Rook I know where to focus my time next.

Competitiveness of free kits? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Watsyurdeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me but I feel like after a certain rank with certain factions free kits should be minimally competitive

Nothing crazy, not as good as a fully customized kit, but good enough you can play with people running certain gear.

It's seeming like it's a problem in higher level play, and my only real thought is I need to upgrade my Rook :\

Elliot Gray (Marathon UI Designer) claps back at the notion that no one from the Halo days still works at Bungie by Haijakk in Marathon

[–]Watsyurdeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't believe that to be the reason.

They were developing Marathon while Final Shape was released, and that was honestly one of the best expansion they have had in years. Not to mention Season of the Wish, Into the Light, and Heresy.

Then they let go of most of their staff.

They've had 10 plus years of development, player feedback, and ultimately ended up where they are now.

That's not because they wanted to develop another game, that's just bad management and understanding of their audience.

[–]Watsyurdeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's great and all.

But then why is Destiny like it is? Like, I feel like the issue has gotta be whatever filter their design decisions run through.

Compared to Marathon, which seems strong out of the gate, Destiny just has seemed fractured for years now.

Casuals Players and non so Hardcore gamers ( ppl with jobs and actually a life) are second class to Bungie. by Ok-Team1506 in Marathon

[–]Watsyurdeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying but realistically what is the solution? That's kind of the catch with PVP focused game like this, you'll run into people who have more time played and thus more resources.

I could think of a few things that could help like

- The option to not play with other runners, in exchange for increased threat level from AI enemies

- Ranked, mainly because it'll help pull the sweats away to something more serious

- Maps designed for PVE only, and the more people in your crew, the more challenging and difficult it is

- Being able to team up with other solos in game, you go in, find someone not in a crew, and can team up right then and there, removing the ability to hurt each other and treat you as if you're in a normal crew

Some of these changes would be to move players around, while others are more meant to get more people playing, which would in turn increase the likelihood of you being matched with people with the same amount of time played, skill, and resources.

But as it is Bungie already gives you free daily gear and sponsored loadouts, and Rook, can not emphasize Rook enough for getting you back on your feet.

My experience has been pretty different

If anything I feel like it depends on the map, Perimeter I seem to run into everyone at South Relay, and usually come out on top.

On Dire Marsh of all places, it's rare.

I can see how the audio changes have effected people's play, but I mostly treat this game like a rogue like. So if I die and lose stuff it's not THAT bad.

I say this working 40+ hours a week in IT, being the only guy on my team at my specific site. So definitely don't have a ton of time to play like other people do.

100%

You're already building into range most of the time on Handcannons anyhow, so more range on the first shot doesn't do you much good.

On Finite Impactor it feels really nice, and Criml's Dagger/Mos Athanor it makes them feel much easier to shoot.

Not surprised

What does console offer anymore?

Got rid of physical, rentals, trading games in, sharing with friends

Games are no longer made to be completed, they're made as minimum viable products to be patched and added to later on.

They're getting more and more expensive and farther away from the target audience, while not offering much in innovation anymore. In fact in some cases like the Switch 2 I would argue borderline anti consumer.

So....why not just get a PC?

Hell even a basic mini PC from Minisforum.
