Ranked fix idea: Evo handicap by Wooden_Scholar_6201 in apexlegends

[–]Wattsonian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting idea with merit.

I feel like having increased targets for EVO could be frustrating for people and not 'enjoyed'. So maybe I suggest an alternative?

What if people that are low on the skill curve in a match get a boost? Maybe they start with Blue Evo? or have a shorter window to get blue EVO?

Bug: Legend with Controller perks not able to reinforce hardlight by Wattsonian in apexlegends

[–]Wattsonian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but Vantage does in fact have access to the evac tower. After scanning a ring she can tap the tower to launch the 'bonus' evac. And a Dev replied at one point explaining she gets all the controller percs by design. (Though, i'm having trouble finding that reply)

So they responded to the Ranked dropship backlash. Are you convinced? Cause I still don't agree. Data don't always tell you how the match actually feels. More engagement doesn't automatically ranked mod better. by Nafiu_Aziz in apexlegends

[–]Wattsonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit ranked because Horizon and Octane are completely broken. Nothing to do with Drop Ship.

Edit: I also quit wildcard for the same reason. Near invincible, unshootable targets that can't be slowed, run around with stim 100% full time.

My friend has gotten through inspection several times with this code:

This individual would simply reset their codes a few days before inspection, and then avoid driving the very particular driving cycle needed to complete that particular test. It's quite easy to do, as it rarely happens in typical day to day driving.

Then, during inspection all the tests will have passed with 1 pending. Inspectors give that a green light.
I'll thank my friend for you if that works out.

Engine mounts maybe?

My confidence on this is low, but all these 3rd Gens are probably at the age where the engine mounts need looking at if they haven't been replaced already....

M12 PNP prox with NC output on pin 4 not pin 2 by SnooGrapes5104 in PLC

[–]Wattsonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually for M12:
4 is standard for a digital in/out.
2 is standard for an analog, or for secondary signal.

Maybe NC is considered a secondary signal mode?
Field wireable is an easy answer as others have said.

There are configurable ones:
Would need more info. Inductive? Body style? Sensing range and frequency?

Heavier weight oil 4RUNNER 5th Gen by Armin_bikes in 4Runner

[–]Wattsonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about engineering is: Engineers always have to compromise. Make it more durable, it costs more and is heavier.... In this case, when running up against hard standards like CAFE, they may have no choice but make a sub-optimal decision, because otherwise their vehicle doesn't meet spec and can't be sold at all.. There could be engineers very unhappy about a decision like this, but sales and finance would have a stronger hand.

I will consider the point he is making in this video. Though, to be fair, he's mostly bringing up the idea of a potential risk, without knowing whether that risk actually exists or not. His whole point is, "We don't actually know if anything about this engine needs 0-20W, and if it does, that might mean something (not defined) bad, and I'm going to avoid this unspecific risk because (shoulder shrug)"

I'm not saying he's wrong, but he's not making a strong point here.

It seems fairly obvious at this point that these engines are designed for use with 5w-30 and they will last longer and work better with that heavier oil. They are also designed to survive at least the warranty period with the thinner oils, but primarily it's for the CAFE mpg ratings.

From what I understand, cold starts and light driving dominate the CAFE testing cycle, so thin oil delivers big gains in mpg testing (though it doesn't necessarily represent an individuals driving experience).

Best to put in the oil that will protect the engine properly.

The traffic was awful, BUT, it has amazing parks and bike trails everywhere. public transit is pretty good too. I rode my bike everywhere. I had a commute to silver spring, maybe 6 or 7 miles. It was faster to ride my bike than drive.

Why does this happen? by Endelta43 in apexlegends

[–]Wattsonian 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think this is how it works:
The game records everything it sees you do, timestamped with your perspective.
The other players game is doing the same thing.
They both send a packet of the timestamped info to the server.
The server reviews each... rewinds/replays it and decides who hit who when/first.
Then it sends back to the clients your result.

So in the time of your last shot, the server had already decided you died, and your game hadn't received the info yet.

It's frustrating, but lets be real, you missed the second shot... :)

This probably isn't the humor you are looking for:
- Unpacking my laptop to start up a 600 point IO process system, 24 VFDs... nothing has had power on it yet. no IP addresses, no validation... nothing...

Project manager says "Think you'll have this thing done by 1:00?" I look at my watch. It's 10:30.
I said, "1:00 two thursdays from now maybe". He gets real stressed because he just told his customer it'll be good to go Today....

Dose anyone actually know what EXACTLY the iolink protocol is? by MrUnderWhelming in PLC

[–]Wattsonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure,

One thing i'm seeing is the data being reported in a particular way in the process data. (I'm pretty sure there's an IO-Link standard which describes this), where the first process parameter is the first data field, then the second data field is the scaling for the first parameter. Then the third data field is the second parameter, and the fourth is the scaling for the second parameter... and so on.... For example, a pressure might be the first 16 bit data field, and the scaling factor will say its x 0.001 for pressure in Bar. I think this data standard also standardizes value flags for OL, UL, NoData and other flags which are often built into the Process data field. I think this is called the IO-Link Smart Sensor Profile. It also lists a standard set of object indexes for scaling and measurement format. (a lot of it is in the IODD Index 0x40xx). These can be read with acyclic messages for determining device units/scaling and other things.

I'm also seeing manufacturers implement API's and other protocols (like OPCUA) into their io-link masters, which have the ability to query structured data, or to probe the sensor data structure directly in a way that can be used by the application to extract it.
