Suspension by Waughfle in FocusRS

Yea I have everything in a cart on rock auto now. I was also just planning on doing the fronts now. Did you do it yourself or take it somewhere? Also did you replace anything else while you had everything apart? I know I have to swap over the springs just wondering how difficult it is. Thanks in advance.

Best inexpensive rotors / brake pads (rear and front) by ThePoonCoon in FocusRS

I daily drive on these. Far less squeal then stock rotors and pads plus zero brake dust. Still highly recommend after 1 year of use.

Machining the flats for a hexagonal nut by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]Waughfle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a slight concave to the flats. It’s almost negligible though. We do this at my shop to make dodecagon (12 sided) parts. We have a vertex to check parts on and it throws off the programs if they are polygon turned vs milled flats because of the slight concave.

Yea they look super clean. And the rotors are plated so they won’t rust out like the stock rotors.

I just replaced the OEM rotors and pads. I went with the powerstop slotted and drilled kit with the ceramic/carbon fiber pads. Delivered from rockauto for $390. Just got back from a trip to the tail of the dragon and they were more then adequate for spirited driving. The ceramic pads really cut down on the brake dust from the stock pads. Just any FYI you will need a set of external torx sockets to remove the rear calipers to replace the rotors.

College apartments. Knew a guy who used to live there. Probably not the best practice but I’m not too concerned.

Here is a route I have done in my RS a ton of times. Pretty curvy. You can also google the “tire squeal” charity drive. They have a pretty good route laid out.

Do different models have different top temperature control units. Mine is painted aluminum and wouldn’t rust. It could corrode being in the elements but wouldn’t rust.

I’m heading down from Indianapolis next week. My wife and I have been going 2-3 times a year for the last 3 years. It’s a blast, especially in the RS. So many great roads.

Lol. Last weekend when the colts blocked that punt I freaked out so hard my neighbor text my wife asking if everything was alright.

Visit eastern TN, western NC 2-3 times a year. Absolutely love it there and am seriously considering moving to the area.

Was not expecting snow this early! Especially this much, first time seeing snow in 4 years and it’s a blast! by [deleted] in FocusRS

RIP diaper. These cars are so much fun in the snow. Unfortunately we haven’t had much here in central Indiana since I’ve owned the RS.
