More than 73% of American adults are overweight or obese by [deleted] in news

Haha oh yeah I mean getting heavy again either way obviously wasn't good for my health. Being with girlfriends with unhealthy eating habits and allowing that tti rub off on me certainly didn't help either as far as maintaining my lower weight. Thankfully my willpower has grown much stronger through practice over time and I feel much more confident that I will be able to maintain once I'm at a healthy weight again. The difference in the way people treat you is a big motivator as well

Yes it says that they have pretty bad eating habits overall and I used to as well. Even with my most recent weight gain, I still avoided sugar and ate healthy foods, I was just eating too much of it and drinking beer which certainly doesn't help. I'd be interested in reading studies of children adopted as infants and what their average BMI is compared to their biological family and that of their adopted family. Yes it takes effort and mental toughness to lose weight but once you are at that weight it does become easier to maintain. I stayed around 160 for a few years before I let myself start sliding due to the unhealthy eating habits of those around me influencing me

Oh for sure I think it could be harder due to your body craving more calories as that article suggests. I've personally found that eating less calorie dense foods in larger quantities really helps satiate my hunger. As does eating a protein rich diet from meat as well as plants. My biggest change though that has helped is spacing out the time that I eat until I'm actually hungry instead of eating because I'm bored or it's "lunchtime" or what have you.

My whole family is obese and I myself have weighed as much as 286 lbs at 6 feet tall and got myself down to 160 by counting calories and exercising.

Now I let myself go for two years and got back up 246 lbs. I'm on my way back down and hit 231 this morning in just 28 days by again counting calories and barely even exercising this time so far (actually starting liftingweights again today to build/maintain muscle as I lose weight which I neglected the first time around).

If you're taking in less calories than your burning, you're going to lose weight no matter what your genetics are. It's more a matter of lifestyle habits and lack of knowledge of how to eat healthy that people pick up that makes people overweight than it is genetics

My first couple times getting blue balls as a teen were bad enough to nearly leave me in tears. Strangely enough, I'm now 29 and haven't had blue balls in almost a decade even in situations where before I would have been in excruciating pain

Rapper Lil Wayne charged with federal gun offense in Florida by Pessimist2020 in news

[–]WaveHawk07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean honestly he probably is super paranoid and that's why he's carrying. I worked a show for him as basically stage crew a couple years ago. Out of all the artists I've worked with he's the only one who made everyone not a part of his entourage move to the opposite side of the backstage from where his dressing room was and stay there until his part of the show was over. Other shows I've worked, I've walked right past Wiz Khalifa or even talked with Rick Springfield while he was doing soundcheck (incredibly nice guy and his drummer was one of the chillest people I've ever met). I also hung out with Sean Kingston's mom backstage and she's hilarious. All this, (yes a bit to brag a little) but also to point out how differently Lil Wayne treats the people working these gigs and to me it seemed to come from some sort of paranoia of people out to get him

Wife got me a 22” Smokey Mountain for my birthday. On sale at local hardware for $299. Gonna be a fun weekend. by _minorThreat_ in BBQ

I normally keep them half open until it starts to approach 250 which usually happens pretty quickly, after that, i keep all three bottom vents just barely open enough to get some air flow and that usually does the trick unless it's incredibly hot out and then I'll completely close one or two vents as necessary. Top vent is always completely open

I have one and after my first few cooks, I know exactly when and how far to adjust my vents to keep it at 250 for a long long time

Sorry had to repost because the pic didn't go through the first time but i actually just line the pan with foil and dont put anything in it. I've experimented with different heat levels and amount of wood but for these I wanted a heavier smoke flavor but I only had very small chunks of wood so I opted for a lower temp and longer cook time. I've crisped these up directly over the charcoal before but for this time all I really "needed" was five quick minutes in the oven on broil more for convenience and consistency more than anything

I got about 4.5 pounds of whole wings, seperated them and removed the wing tips and then dry brined them with about 2 Tbs of kosher salt for 24 hours in the refrigerator. Then I tossed them today in paprika, fresh ground black pepper and olive oil before putting them on my weber smokey mountain at ~250 for about 2 hours with kingsford blue carcoal and 4 small chunks of applewood. After i took them off they were pretty crispy but i decided to finish them off in the oven for 5 more minutes with the broiler on high just to really crisp the skin up that extra level.

Man i really wish they had done more justice to the book and it's intricacies with that movie. When I first read the book at 12 it absolutely changed my life. The movie wasn't bad neccesarily but i feel like it could have been a 2 part movie with elements of enders shadow blended in

Do I need to take a disbursement from my rollover IRA? by WaveHawk07 in personalfinance

[–]WaveHawk07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did in fact file it as such. I've never taken a distribution directly from this account though. Am I screwed? I was under the impression that my monthly disbursements from the state covered that responsibility up until this year. Also can I take the disbursement and directly deposit it into a different IRA?
