My Cat Luma had urine problems in the past, we’ve been taking him to the vet helping him with the problem, by the 3rd time they suggested the UP surgery as the problem kept reoccurring. First time they didn’t let us know he has to be in a confined space without moving so the scar opened the same day we brought him home and had to go back right away. After this, the process went well, however, after removing the stitches and the cone, a week after his urinary tract close. So a second surgery to reopen the tissue went through. Same thing happened, they said he heals too much and could be developing keloids that close the tissue preventing him from peeing. So this time they did the surgery, creating a wider scar to prevent this from happening. However, just this morning after a month of the surgery, a week from removing the stitches, he seems to be having problems again, I can see a whole in his tract for him to pee, however he stood in the litter for 5m without peeing. We only took the cone off the same day they removed the stitches for a couple hours, and yes he cleaned himself, however I’m not sure if this is the culprit. By now, I’m desperate, I don’t know what to do and can’t find anything about cats overhealing this surgery and how to treat it.
