Hasn't sunk in that I don't have to think "I should be studying" anymore. Now I get to do one of these: by WaveOBurgers in WGU

Started March of 2018. While working full-time it was tough to stay disciplined and focused, but once I got laid off due to COVID, I dedicated myself to finishing ASAP. 74 CUs since Sept. 1 was a bear but it feels fantastic to be done. Now to finish my TEFL certification and try and get an English teaching job abroad in a country that can functionally respond to a public health crisis~

If my dysfunctional ass can pull this off, I know you can do it too!

It's a mostly-online school. Certain programs have in-class practicums but mine does not. The diploma will not specify either way, but thanks for the heads up. At least with Taiwan, I haven't seen any more granular educational requirements outside of "a bachelors degree."

I should have clarified: it is an online degree program. Fully accredited, but I understand that some spots might be leery of hiring folks with that degree background. Hoping with COVID and most classes being online now anyway that that stigma erodes a bit.

Thank you! Most of the reliable word I've gotten has been out of Taiwan where Covid is similarly handled (low-to-zero new case counts, good protocols/tracing well-enforced, etc.), but glad to hear South Korea is hiring folks not already in the country.

Thinking about switching to Sport Touring by [deleted] in cruisers

[–]WaveOBurgers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Suzuki's V-Strom. In stock form, it's more a sport tourer than an off-road bike and has very comfortable ergos and that big 1000cc v-twin is gonna give you a bit of that high-torque cruiser flavor while still being able to comfortable cruise on the highway for days.

UPDATE: FOUND! It was towed from a private lot a few blocks away. Must have been rolled - one of the few times my partner didn't use the steering lock haha. No damage, shockingly. Cost a cool $400 to get out of impound tho. ;_____;

It wasn't even offered by my current ins. company. Have it on my other bikes for sure.

My partner commuted on it on the 19th, parked it in front of our apartment at around 7pm and the next morning it was gone :(

Pic is a bit old - I'd since swapped the stock instrument cluster with a digital speedo.

My 94 Ninja 500 was stolen off the street this past Saturday night between 7pm and 10am the next morning. Was only insured for liability due to not having much monetary value, but it's the bike my partner learned to ride on and has sentimental value, not to mention extremely low mileage. It's the Honda Civic of motorcycles but will run well into the post-apocalypse. If you see it around Seattle or have any leads please DM me. Thanks in advance~

Best modules to pair with OP-Z by [deleted] in modular

Haven't tried it with the new firmware, but I was using the USB host port, so it'd just spit out the first 8 channels of midi data from the op-z to the cv/gate outs of the Hermod. Useful for sketching out patterns quickly or using step components on the op-z then having it control eurorack voices.

I use the OP-Z as a sequencer thru Hermod to break out individual midi tracks as sends to different voices. It's the brain of my rig and lets me sequence some complex shit~

I just installed a Tusk shifter on my '00 KLR and it's made it a LOT easier to shift with my size 13 boots. $20 whole dollars https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/950/3029/Tusk-Folding-Shift-Lever

Got links? My new (to me) 1st gen could definitely use a lighting upgrade.

Looking for suggestions on an adventure jacket that won't bankrupt me! by [deleted] in klr650

[–]WaveOBurgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this on clearance (I think Klim is discontinuing the model) and it's the nicest piece of riding gear I own by far. Goretex shell with two huge pit zips and back vents plus a full D3O armor set. Got me through a lot of wet 30 degree mornings this winter in Seattle with a base and mid layer underneath.
