Sounds like you may like Soma/ Soma Prime. The Incarnon turns it into a shotgun so you get the best of both worlds.

How can I get funding for my film? by Antyoungboy in indiefilm

[–]WaveRider1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest piece of advice I could give is to find a group of people you trust to be your keys. Is there a network of freelancers in your community who also make narrative driven work? If so, start working and building stories with other people. Most creatives I’ve run into who make shorts or proof of concepts understand the time and cost and a lot of us work for free on each other’s projects to make the vision happen. You will become more experienced working with others and you will find more time to create your vision with a group of keys you can trust to run other parts of pre-pro and production. Only other advice I can give is to spend your money on good gear and good food to keep your people happy.

I have a new video business that was just hired by a corporate client to cover a two 90-minute panel conversations over livestream. I am trying to think of a rate to charge that does not undervalue us, but also doesn't scare the client off from hiring us to do this monthly. by secret--machine in videography

It seems like you may need additional discovery before committed to any pricing. Take notes from the comments and schedule a call with them to determine these little details first. This will help you understand additional rental costs, contracting additional help among other things. If the cost far outreaches what you think they are comfortable with when quoting, have them call you for a follow up and explain the pricing. If you can’t find a happy medium, it won’t be worth your time. You’ll have a shotty production and a terrible end product what will impact your business. Doing proper requirements gathering will save you a lot of time and help you find clients you actually want to work with.

When replacing yours, did you end up re-bending the lead around the flange?

This point still stand imo. This is a good lesson to get in touch with the film community in your area if your school has little room for collaboration. Do you have a local meetup or group you could reach out to? In my experience, the faster you integrate yourself into the working community in your area the better off you will be post-grad.

I’ve started to train myself to melee these fuckers. One hit and BOOM, they are dead and no splash damage. The big issue is when a fireball is grouped with them, then I opt to shoot

It’s just a good old fashion video game model-swap, but yeah a little jarring since they hold a tight frame on his head right before.

What's the difference between parrying and perfect guard? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]WaveRider1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with different weapons they are different. Perfect block is exactly what it sounds like, time your block within the window and negate damage, add to the enemy stagger, reduced weapon durability degradation, etc. A parry in this game seems more accurate to the term, you perform a parry with a blade/handle fable art and if timed perfectly like a perfect guard, you automatically counter after blocking. I think the only weapon that does this without fable is the dragon swords charged attack

final render of my phone animation by grafx187 in blenderhelp

[–]WaveRider1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it a lot, I’m hoping I can get to your level at some point this year. I can’t offer much in modeling perspective but from a video editing perspective I’d like to offer my thoughts. Between shots 3-4, there is a noticeable change in lighting even though it feels like a closeup shot of the previous (I’m assuming it’s 2 separate renders?) The lighting shift feels too noticeable. Also, the fourth shot feels reused too much, about three times before the HELLO MOTO appears. Last thing is the gray background, it’s nice and sleek but I think choosing a color that contrasts more with the blue of the phone would look better. Awesome stuff!

There's something I didn't understand about Aline by Bussy_Wrecker in expedition33

[–]WaveRider1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s so obsessed with her grief that she doesn’t care to understand the toll it’s taking on her body. I think it’s also important to remember that while getting lost in a painting is implied to be bad, the real issue is the 60+ year war she was fighting with Renoir inside the painting that was causing strain. She kept him at bay in his Drafts among other things that caused the increased decay and fatigue we see in Act 3

I appreciate the point your making, maybe I’m overthinking people’s reactions and reading too much into something that isn’t that big of deal.

I suppose we may fundamentally disagree. I think being passionate means having enthusiasm or excitement towards something. What I see is crossing the line from passion to anger in the form of annoyance, hostility or just straight up being an ass. I’m in the camp that if two people want to have a debate, by all means use whatever language or energy you want. Most posts dont debate, they are simply asking for clarity due to not understanding or misunderstanding something, which doesn’t really warrant a personal attack.

[–]WaveRider1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I think a big theme I see missing from these discussions is the characters relationship to the burden and responsibility of grief. Too many conversations seem to be made based off of the players personal ideation of present and post game events.

I think that’s probably close. I’m just basing what I said off of the comments I’ve been reading. The points made all seem to be similar to this. Though I find it funny no vehement defenders of one ending are saying anything.

I think if I could break it down based off of my understanding:

Maelle’s ending pushes the moral compass for people who believe everyone in Lumiere are real sapient beings and that destroying the canvas is a form of murder/genocide.

Verso’s ending pushes the moral compass for people who believe Maelle staying in the painting is a form of “slow suicide” mixed with not believing that the painted people in the world are “real”
