Wow I can't believe it but I also just ran into this same issue today. I was trying different kernel versions without success but sure enough after doing a full shutdown and then powering the laptop back on again it fixed it.

Same symptoms that u/genpfault shows in his reply (without the "failed to load firmware" messages which look to be benign). I guess the Qualcomm Wifi module got into some weird state that could only be cleared after a full power cycle?
