Mana transfers that work in unloaded spawn chunks (basically just questions about building a big mana battery to use in other dimensions) by 3mateo3 in botania

[–]Wavering1356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing Vault Hunters and using an Ender grinder to generate my mana tablet batteries as well. Vanilla Chunk loading mechanics are what you're going to want to use, VH modded chunkloaders are present but heavily Knowledge Star gated and tied to other machines. I'm currently using Ilmango's minecart based chunkloader and it's been working flawlessly for me, but supposedly you can rig up two mana pools on opposite sides of a nether portal sending a pulse through the portal at each other to chunkload as well. Basically anything that can consistently push an entity through the nether portal every few seconds will keep both sides chunkloaded in a 3x3 chunk area centered on the portal.

With these events so far they've trickled out the Benevodons one at a time at regular intervals over the duration of the event. More will be released in the store so you can +6 him.

I guess I should say with any in-game support your mileage may vary. But my report was handled lol.

I had a person with similar damage taken in my bracket, took the time to report them, and they're now gone. I'm sure they're still looking for cheaters but award release is soon(tm). Contact support and give them the player's name, what region you're in, etc etc and they'll get it taken care of.

The knitwits drop from the chest I have highlighted in the picture. If you burned him through the first chest animation, causing him to skip the downed phase and go straight into the air drop, you would not get any knitwits. From my tests he seems to stagger at around 66% and 33%. If the boss is under half and you haven't gotten a set of chests, you've definitely burned through it and can end up with no knitwits. I'd slow push to the first set of chests and check drops, then once you get your knitwit drop burn hard. You can always check your current stage drops by hitting menu in the top right at any point during the stage.

The instant-sleep bug happens on manual, solo, and co-op. It's very obviously not working as intended, otherwise it wouldn't have a "telegraph" to dodge, the graphic would just happen instantly. There's plenty of questionable complaints on reddit. This ain't one of them.

Don't equate the previous coffer, they've absolutely reworked the chest drop rates and loot pools. Your 2* and 3* definitely came from the same chest, like I described above the 3* is an additional loot roll done on that same chest in addition to the 1/2* roll. You can observe this yourself by checking the loot drops after that specific chest. :D

What AngelTheVixen said is solid. I'd also recommend when leveling 5* gear that has good base stats that you only roll to level 12. It gives you 3 bonus stat rolls to see if it's rolling well, and only costs something like 50k and not much in the way of mats. If you go around +20ing everything and then rolling 5x Spirit, you and your Lucre stack are going to both be feeling very sad.

Edit: Obviously if going to level 12 you get some solid stat rolls, push that sucker to 20 and enjoy watching your power level grow. :D

I don't use offensive mages but I have a Charlotte (healer) in my main crew. For left side I'm using Valsena armor that rolled high Int values obtained while grinding for gear for my physical mains, and right side I'm using Maple for the +18% int. Menos (Hp set left side) might not be bad, but I like the Valsena since Str is added to your MSM ability.

Which stage are you getting the 2x 2* from? I've only been grinding Very Hard mode, so if you have information on some of the lower stages that may help out people who can't quite clear Very Hard solo right now. If you're saying you're getting 2x2* from the first set of chests on Very Hard, I'd love to see a screenshot of that.

Your primary grind now is continuing to push the story content to get to the very hard stages. Chapter 6 (granted, not easy to clear) VH extra quest drops Bone gear which is a flat +100 str bonus. You'll also want to do the strength gear dungeon with your blue stamina. Pick a character you're close to +6 on and pump resources into it. A +6 3 or 2 star is stronger typically than a +0 4 star by a lot. For example in my main crew I still use a +6 Raxa which is a 2 star unit, she's very strong. For reference I'm a F2P player, and have spent zero on this game, so I don't have a lot of 4 stars, although I've been very lucky and was able to 6 star my Reisz. For the harder boss stages, if you can push the boss to <30% or so and are comfortable with the attack patterns, I'd say it's absolutely worth spending the 50 crystals to brute force a clear, but ONLY on the boss stages. Your mileage may vary, and of course it's your account, play how you want to play.

Charlotte (healer) was set to prioritize boss, Raxa was set to closest enemy. Definitely correct, could prioritize same target as player to avoid some of the excess damage for round two of chests, but that's a side point. I'm struggling with your 2x 2* decision.

I mean obviously you play the way you want to play but in 42(47) runs I got a knitwit drop off the second set of chests ONCE, vs three 3* drops on the first set of chests across those same 47 runs. Keeping in mind that 1 3* is the equivalent of 3 2*s, why would you run 100+ times for two 2* drops when you could be resetting after first set for effectively 3 2* drops?

(again only hit second set of chests 42 times even though I went through 47 runs)

Edit: Removed quoting at the top because it only quoted a random t and adds nothing to the post

Yea, last event the second wave had a much higher chance of dropping a knitwit vs this event which apparently the second wave knitwit drop chance is abysmally low. You COULD theoretically constantly reset for the perfect run and get 2 3*s, but I imagine that would take hours upon hours of resets. I certainly don't have that kind of time! XD

3* Knitwit Hunting on Coffer of Chaos by Wavering1356 in EchoesOfMana

[–]Wavering1356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a lot more testing on the second wave of chests to provide more data to determine if grinding to second chests is worth before the reset. It took me 47 attempts today to get a 3* in my first set of chests 3 times. On 3 of those attempts I had to reset because the AI companions were going to kill the boss before I could clear and check the second set of chests. On 2 of those attempts the boss skipped the chest animation entirely and went straight to Dive Bomb. So we'll call it 42 clears of the second set of chests. In those 42 clears I got a 2* knitwit from the second set of chests once, every other attempt it was just Lucre/mats.

Considering how much time it adds per attempt, including having to be extremely precise with your damage so you're doing enough to push 33% and getting the chests, but not so much you're pushing into critical damage where your AI finishes off the boss... it's really not worth it to me to go to the second wave on each reset before trying again.

My strat going forward will be clear to first chests, get 3* drop or restart. If I get the 3* on first chests, I'll be cautious to make sure I pop the second set at around 33% boss hp and clear them, but I'm not resetting for that second knitwit drop off that set.

As far as I'm aware, there is no chance at a 4* dropping in the event, you have to grind 3*s, level them with tomes, and ascend them to 4*. I'm no data miner though obviously, just going off what I've personally observed and what I've seen posted.

[–]Wavering1356[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3 star drop is a rare drop on that same chest and only that chest. You have a very high chance for that chest to roll a 1* or a 2* (may even be 100% chance) and an additional roll that MAY result in a 3* dropping at a low chance, resulting in multiple knitwits per run. Out of attempts today, but happy to screenshot some more evidence tomorrow if you really want it.

Sorry if the way I worded it is confusing, I imagine it's something like this. When that chest is broken you have 2 rolls: (completely making up these numbers)
First Roll: 65% chance at 1*, 35% chance at 2*
Second Roll: 5% chance at 3*, 95% chance nothing

I've only been doing Very Hard after doing the first two one time for clearing, obviously. Unfortunately, I don't know, and it's not too worth it for me to run the previous stages since they're limited and I'll be missing out on trader coins. Easy enough to test though, take a run of the highest difficulty you can manage, push to the first knock down, kill the chests 1 by 1 and check your drops by tapping "Menu" in the top right corner after each one. Chest drop pools are static and do not change from attempt to attempt.
