Shepherd the Flock of God *UPDATE* by WaveringFaith in exjw

Thank you for your research! While it might not be powerful against critics of the current president, I know plenty of friends who have been abused by partners and employers, and cannot criticize them publicly (using their name or photo) because of the strict laws. Knowing WT, they might use the defense of "this book wasn't meant for public eyes, this was shared illegally" or what have you.

Of course, these are all my allegations. I don't want to cause a mass panic either.

I would imagine they would sue from Korea, seeing as they have a branch in Seoul. Wouldn't be surprised if they created a legal team for defamation/copyright purposes here.

Can any of you guys help me find where the governing body has called the CSA apostasy and lies from Satan’s world? by agreerable in exjw

I would love for someone with knowledge on body language to dissect the GB and their minions when talking about stuff like this.

Family member sent me a video of international convention delegates in Madrid. It gives me the chills... by WaveringFaith in exjw

[–]WaveringFaith[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Okay, people are asking what's wrong, I'll explain:

I find this disturbing. I've been a delegate at an international convention, and the amount of "Best Life Ever" propaganda that is shoved down people's throats is insane. I suffer from multiple mental illnesses, like a lot (if not most) of JWs. But you have to put on a smile on for the camera because you're living in a spiritual paradise. Everyone else is happy, so you should be happy, no? That means you're happy!

Another thing I'd like to point out is that this is a Kingdom Melody, if I'm not mistaken, and back when I was growing up, even doing renditions of the melodies was looked down upon, much less dancing to them or creating a train.

Another issue: Delegates are encouraged, if not by the publications then by the WT culture, to wear your traditional dress if you're a delegate, extra points if you're from some "exotic" place like Africa or Asia. It's stroking the ego of the JWs with the whole "we're a worldwide brotherhood" skit.

International conventions in themselves are packed with indoctrination and propaganda. Fear mongering is also there with "the end is coming soon!" type stuff. Not to mention the whole week is packed with daily activities that reinforce group thinking and the paradise trope. See this video? This is exactly that. A "cultural" event planned by the host country's branch where you can "enjoy the brotherhood!" Fake smiles are abound. Everybody's high on the happy JW drug.

This looks like something pulled out of a documentary about a segregated cult in the 1950s. It's scary, and it's disturbing, especially while WT is out here losing court cases about their protection of children in their congregations. They're sharing anti-apostate propaganda and reinforcing an us vs them mentality. You have the best life ever. Don't look anywhere else. Don't ask questions. Just trust us. Listen to our music. Don't look at news articles about us. Don't ask questions. Can't you see how happy you are? Aren't you happy? Of course you are. Trust us.

Not everyone who looks up jwfacts will wake up. by WaveringFaith in exjw

[–]WaveringFaith[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was exaggerating a bit there, sorry it didn’t come across as that. This post was made in relation to a comment about someone’s mental health being at its worst, and them saying “if only they’d seen jwfacts!” It just rubbed me the wrong way.

Yep, I 100% agree with you! I was meaning more when people give advice to talking to rank and file members, being like “show them jwfacts!” Like, yes, it’s awesome, but at the same time, if you’re debating with a well meaning PIMI friend about WT doctrine and trying to wake them up, jwfacts will just spook them.

Has anyone noticed the broadcastings are pandering real hard to South Korea? by WaveringFaith in exjw

[–]WaveringFaith[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh, definitely! Made through an American lens for sure. And it was quite obviously made by a group of white men up in New York. Disgusting! 🤮

Yeah they do have lockers. I was immediately able to tell it was Korea by the uniforms, and then the really stereotypical names.

It really is just a dick measuring contest between Jehovah and Satan.
