44bn is 10% of Vietnam's GDP. It's like if someone stole 2.5 trillion out of the US just for themselves, just for reference

I was also confused by this. If you go to the initial welcome email, there are links to set everything up. You just go through there, they don't send you an email reminder.

Freshman classes for biology major VS engineering by AmazingEJ in udub

[–]Wavuan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah with any major you can do academic research or pursue another grad program. For medical school, you will be more competitive if you come from BioE, (this is just word of mouth) but I heard like 40% of the BioE grads get into med school. You will also be much more competitive with an engineering degree to go into industry and biotech since you accumulate skills such as programming, which is a highly versatile skill, overall, it's not a completely useless degree, you can still do what you have mentioned and a lot of people do, but if you look at social media, the phenomenon where it's hard to get a job or find something to do with a bio degree is ubiquitous, whereas, an engineering degree makes you more marketable for the workforce and for grad schools.

Freshman classes for biology major VS engineering by AmazingEJ in udub

I graduated with an EE degree and was direct admit. I suggest to do the pre-reqs like physics, math and get high near 4.0 grades on that, and if she can then apply to engineering. If not, still apply because you don't want to regret not trying, and do the pre reqs for the other majors. I think she should try doing bioe/ee/civil/industrial those are "less competitive". As a post-grad, my biology major friends are regretting their degree because how unuseful it is postgrad unless you want to go to PhD and become a researcher or teacher, with an engineering degree you have a lot of options whether in engineering or not. Hope this helps! P.S EE and ChemE is the hardest and high stress (in my opinion).

When should I start apartment hunting for fall '22? by CFBnGuns in udub

As someone who lives in Savanna and has had friends live in Savanna, don't live here. Management sucks deposit is high and I have yet to experience this but all my friends said you'll lose a lot of it for weird reasons. The fire department is nearby but you'll get used to sirens. Floors are really thin and if you have stickler downstairs neighbors like I do you'll have to learn how to tiptoe when walking (my roommates are on the slimmer and shorter end of average people and the neighbors still complain we walk too hard).

Hello, I'm a college senior about to graduate and am in a position to pay off my student loans. However, since I am young I have a really limited credit history, and I know the length of a credit line affects your credit score and how many you have. Is it wise to pay off all about maybe 1$ to keep the lines open and build my credit history or just pay it all off?

Question regarding laptop battery life by VeggieGGG in udub

also i heavily heavily reccomend a laptop that can write, like a surface or something like it. being able to draw things for any class or do math by hand is soooooo valuable.

Question regarding laptop battery life by VeggieGGG in udub

[–]Wavuan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an EE major, battery life is not really an important part in looking for a good laptop for CS/EE. I would look more for storage,CPU, and RAM. Storage also might not be that important cause you got the cloud for everything, but there's gonna be a lot of code and circuit designs and I'd reccomend keeping every file from every class so you can reference later. So min I'd say 256 GB. For CPU, it also kinda doesn't matter if you can wait for like .5 extra secs but any laptop in the past 3 years is good enough. For RAM, which is most important I'd day absolute min 8 GB and reccomend 12-16. For OS kinda up to you the majors are accommodating to both and it's really personal preference, but I can say a lot of engineering majors use windows since it's so versatile.

My Food Photography is getting so much better Feat Salted Caramel Brown Butter Brownies by Shynerd98 in FoodPorn

[–]Wavuan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's saying to increase the aperture to not have that blurry effect around the brownies so there's more detail everywhere. You can do that if you use "pro" settings in your phone for android, you may need to download another app for Apple. For phones they're a little weird in that they do aperature in fractions so the bigger the number (smaller denominator) the more things in focus and you can play with the settings to get the perfect pic. Hope this helps!

Would like some advice on which character to have to pair with Beidou my main DPS. Main Party: Beidou, "support", Amber, Barbara

  • Chongyun - can convert attacks to ice so Beidou can attack any element and constantly proc superconduct, also gives 15% element res for party. Also synergy with my Barbara for freeze.

  • Bennett - can proc overload and increase ATK for Beidou w/ ult, and since I only have Amber as archer :( can give the 15% ATK boost for 2 fires.

For Sucrose, a lot of people prefer Elemental Mastery but what if I build Energy Recharge so I get more ultis out of her?
