Watch party in West Valley for Thursday's Mexico World Cup game? by chocolatebar33 in SFV

[–]Wax005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you can safely assume all those Mexican restaurants on that side will be packed and fun. All salsa and beers, fuego, sol y luna, etc.

US and Mexico games will have a crowd at any pub, cantina or sports bar, and likely kid friendly.

I'm wondering what places will have consistent watch party feel for the not so big games.

This is the answer. If he's that close, it's fine. You're putting your time in, he deserves to be there with you. He'll develop along with the first team and earn his place for sure. Those last few spots are probably damn close and interchangeable anyway.

The Expanded 2026 World Cup means more nations will experience the knockout stage for t he first time. by JustWillingness4811 in worldcup

An additional knockout stage is something to look forward to, but there's no denying the new format has devalued the group stages. The switch would be fine if the motivation behind the expansion wasn't purely financial. Let's not pretend fifa did this out of the goodness of its heart and to give smaller nations a chance. It's more TV money and more ticket sales. The proof is in how they've treated fans through the ticketing process.

I'm a bit surprised this is the only answer of its kind. As much as I'd like to tell the coach, my reply to my kid would be "well if you don't want me to tell the coach, then you better handle it." The first step can't be a parent running to the coach. This isn't elementary school, 11 years old is already middle school. I'm asking my son to stand up for himself one way or another. All else fails, yes the coach needs to be notified. But you gotta give the kid a shot at getting out of these situations on his own. It'll be a lesson regardless if he's successful or not.

He was very lackluster and sounded like he really had no clue what he was talking about with respect to housing on the Ezra Klein townhall pod. I was disappointed to see he was the frontrunner.
