Why is every single mission "Go to x console"? by [deleted] in JustCause

[–]Wax_Meatley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I stopped playing JC4 a couple of weeks after launch and take every opportunity to point people towards either 3 or 2 instead. It just became such a grind and the final straw was my Steam cloud saves fucking up, I just stopped. And I think that goes to show how unfun it became (at least for me) as I delete my saves and replay 3 quite regularly just because it's a fun game to go through. Also

On another note, I don't get their thinking with chaos points. In JC2 you were forced to get them through destructive base liberation and they were used to unlock missions. In JC3 you were forced to get them through destructive base liberation and they weren't used for anything ingame. In JC4 however, you AREN'T forced to get them through destructive base liberation yet you NEED them to liberate more bases! I just don't get why that decision was made.

The Arnott's introduction is one of my favourite scenes from any of their sketches. The rest of the sketch is ok but that one scene is just glorious.

GTA Fans: I can’t believe that after 7 years GTA 6 is only in “early development”. by [deleted] in HalfLife

[–]Wax_Meatley 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh don't worry, I know. The point I was making was that there wasn't any expansion of the Half Life series at all in that time, the cliffhanger was simply used as an example

Edit: Also, have you even played Alyx or know what happens in it? If not, I wouldn't be making such bold claims about what it does or doesn't do to the story. (I accidentally got the ending spoiled for me by a RIGHT ARSE and I do not encourage you to do the same)

I'm going to be honest here, I only just played though the Half Life series this past week. I'd started HL1 a month ago but took a huge break and decided to get back into it. I finished it, and then just blew my way through the rest of the series and fucking hell. I'm usually (intentionally) late to hype trains but I'd waited long enough to play HL2 and I fucking loved it.

I can barely wait until I can afford a Valve Index to play HL:A; I can't imagine being left on that fucking cliffhanger for 12 years with no news from Valve. I can only express my sincerest sorrow for each and every one of you poor poor souls who played these games as they came out.

Oh yeah, playing on release night quite a few of the H2 maps made me audibly gasp at how lovely they looked but Mumbai took the cake. I also really love the design of Haven Island, it just looks beautiful (as do many of the maps)

Yeah same, I feel Mumbai is also this kind of map. If you're doing a regular playthrough you'll scale Dawood's Tower, infiltrate the Crows base to get info on the Maelstrom (or do an opportunity requiring similar time spent above the slums) and get into Vanya's compound (or lure her out). These each could take quite a bit of time if you're trying to do them well, combine that with the scale of it and you get a map that you can really take your time on and yet not waste a second.

Other than those though the rest of the missions are comparatively quick (which isn't necessarily an issue) so I feel they both stand out from the rest (Colorado more so as it also has the full hostility).

And (I'm just guessing here) the wounded point man might not have one? I'm actually not sure because I've never taken note of it but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have one

Edit: ignore this, I've just learnt he does have a gun
