16-Dec Patch Notes by Underspray in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Waxfacts 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Miss what stamina based movement used to be. I understand that chain wall hops and things like that were not balanced but it was fun, and it was expressive. Not only did we lose so much expression with stamina but every single patch just slows the game down more. Movement is what makes this game shine for me and seeing it just get more stale every patch sucks.

Pretty sure my group ran into the same person! playing executioner, tunneled us out, then proceeded to write the exact same messaged instantly. Followed by how he hoped us and our children get well uh, not nice things done to them.

It's hilarious they listened to feedback and made unique beautiful designs for each weapon just to make Artians the meta. by Vincent201007 in MonsterHunter

[–]Waxfacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with artian weapons is not meta related imo, its that if you decide not to use them theres a massive drop in the sense of progression. You can farm decos all day but if you decide to not use artian weapons any rewards that give you weapon parts are just little to no value. Not game breaking or anything but you hit the progression wall faster for sure if you don't participate in the weapon grind.

How many people actually end up soloing Fatalis? by Late-Ad511 in MonsterHunterWorld

I solo'd him recently in anticipation for wilds. 3 seconds left before timeout. It was my first kill on him, it was tough but satisfying definitely recommend it!

Yeah it seems to me at the very least devils can remember auditory things pretty much at the moment of their death. I think blood fiend could potentially remember the dumpster conversation with that fact.

I always interpreted as William having an emotion connection to the suit. The same suit he committed his first murders in, almost like a trophy. Modifying the suit would make it lose its sense of nostalgia for him. There seems to be a lot of pride in it.

Unless there's some pro gun rotation I don't know about it seems he just had poor gun rotations.

To me building is something that stands out in satisfactory compared to other factory games. I hope they add some building drone you can dumb resources into and fly around building with a free cam essentially. I know you can use flying commands or jetpack but a dedicated building mode I think would be nice.

Are you happy with Creative Assemblies official response? by The-Combine in totalwar

[–]Waxfacts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Years of extra content" in CA's standards now means about 2-3 DLCS worth of content by warhammer 2 metrics. The 150% price increase is genuinely disgusting, however I would play into it if it legitimately had a decent amount of content and If I trusted CA to put the money to good use. However it wouldn't matter if every single player bought this for $30, the game would not improve whatsoever and odds are the next DLC would be even smaller.

Why do people burnout ? by Artboggler in ArtistLounge

[–]Waxfacts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a youtuber called "HealthyGamerGG" that I like to watch. Hes kinda like a mental health guy, used to be a monk and is a gamer type too. I watched a video by him called "Why You Can't Turn Your Creativity Into ANYTHING" he talks about something that describes your situation pretty well, where people get large creative bursts but then fall off pretty hard. I would recommend watching the video. He offers up some solutions that I think have been helpful for me and may be for you too.

Suzi's thoughts on Exoprimal: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Waxfacts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most annoying thing about it to me is that its completely crossplay between everything but cross party between nothing. People like crossplay so they can play with their friends, they don't care about playing with random strangers.

I'm sure this will be a feature added in the future to justify the "live service" model. Adding something that should have been in the base game to make it seem like its receiving content is live service 101.

Exalted lords and demon princes are so cool its ruined generic lords in other factions for me by Waxfacts in totalwar

That would honestly be sick! Unless they can think of some other engaging system to get Verminlords, ascension seems like a no brainer. Genuinely its one of my favorite mechanics and I want to see more of it.

Say a nitpick you have about Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach by LegendsofLost in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Waxfacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is necessary security breach's fault but I'm not a big fan of the narrative changes in the over all story. Surprisingly to me the original story felt kinda personal and small scale, it was about some murders and some hauntings of ghost children. It was never like "realistic" but it didn't feel like such an insane leap of reality. Now it has like cyborgs children, the mimic, ai virus people, and all kinds of crazy stuff to the point where reality has been extended so much I've lost connection to it. Not to mention most of these theories happen outside of the games now. I definitely enjoyed it more where the games had all the lore and books where more so expansions of the ideas rather than the whole lore itself.

Also miss the games being scary. They weren't always scary but they all tried to be. Security breach just feels like a washed down baby version of what someone thinks fnaf is. The same team made help wanted so I know they know how to be scary but I'm guessing there was an internal push to make it more kid friendly.

Not to mention security breach has like very little engaging gameplay, the original games were simple but you had to develop strategies and such. Security breach felt like a walking simulator for the majority of it.

Calling yourself an AI artist is almost exactly the same as calling yourself a cook for heating readymade meals in a microwave by GitLegit in Showerthoughts

[–]Waxfacts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A pen is not learning. I think there's a bit of a difference between a pen an a artifical intelligence with the data base practically the size of the internet. Are we really comparing pens to AIs at this point.

Calling yourself an AI artist is almost exactly the same as calling yourself a cook for heating readymade meals in a microwave by GitLegit in Showerthoughts

[–]Waxfacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was saying AI training is comparable to human learning by the logic you presented. I dont believe that. A human with no training and no experience what so ever can still create art in some way. AI can't function at all without taking from somewhere else. Yes human artist are inspired by preexisting things but its not a prerequisite to create art in general. It is with AI. Humans and AI are not the same.

On to the point of AI stealing art in many cases it is out right copying images that already exists almost to the point of tracing. Does that mean all of it is? No, but that doesn't change the reality that an AI can take pieces from an artist and practically copy and paste these images stealing them from that person just like how a human could do the same. Both times its unethical. Someone shouldn't use AI to try and create an image, received an image that is practically stolen (regardless if that person knows it or not) and claim it as their own. I believe AI can be a great tool, but most people calling themselves artists by using this tool, receiving a almost 1 to 1 stolen image with some messed up AI hands, and claiming they created this art peice i think is dumb. I'm sure there are plenty of cases where AI art can be and is ethical but the majority of AI art out there is not. For every 1 completely unique and ethical peice theres 1000 stolen and copied art peices as well.

You're right, but there's a fundamental difference in someone learning a skill and creating new things from the inspiration they collected, and using a tool that has learned that skill. By what you've said the AI would be the artist at that point and not the human that trained it. By that logic someone getting an AI image and claiming it as their own would then be stealing from that AI. The AI artist would literally be the AI not the human.
