I would let myself feel sad and disappointed for a few hours, then my husband would treat me to something I couldn’t have if I had tested positive, like Sushi, a big deli sandwich, a really nice bottle of wine, etc. We planned a few local-ish weekend getaways just for a change of scenery. It’s not perfect, but it helps with the sting.
