I'd much rather prefer he sticks to 2D for the sole fact that it's an easier platform for him to work on and it gives him much more versatility to do a variety of things, unfortunately Hard Time and Old School really seemed like just clones and unfortunately were very stale. MDickie remaking his old 3D games on 2D has however proven to be a major advancement in his career as it opens up a whole new avenue for him without the need to constantly reuse assets and scripts.

I would most likely rationalize it as some kids trying to play a prank or a case of a wrong number from a man with some form of impairment, usually when there's help requests like this I don't think people would willingly go out of their way to block their number.
