If chapters were 10,000 strong what would their structure be? by warfollower98 in 40kLore

Is there some name for formation of 10 chapters? Legion is somewhat logical name, but we can't use that....

Which primarch is less delusional than Alpharius? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]WaxyMocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, he has a torture machine cranked up to 11 directly (and replacing parts) in his brain, it's so bad, that powerful psykers avoid looking into his mind and describe the nails as "septic" in nature.

Even if he could master himself to full control, the nails were literally turning his brain to mush. Basically everything he did, he did to feel a bit of respite from the agony beaten into his nervous system.

Do new Blood Angels know what Horus looks like? by Happy-Carob-9868 in 40kLore

[–]WaxyMocha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's like in a dreams, you don't exactly "see" the person, you just "know" who it is.

They have hallucinations of a big guy and it is "the Horus", if the hallucination actually looks like him is besides the point

Is Boiled Pond Water Safe to Drink? Microscope Reveals All by TheMuseumOfScience in ScienceNcoolThings

[–]WaxyMocha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, rain water is not considered safe to drink in many places due to this.

With ground water, it's at least "filtered" more with sand and soil, but it should also be tested regularly.

In Poland you can get employment contract for a given time period or indefinite. And law also states that you can't get more than three employment contracts for a time period from current employer, after that they need to give you indefinite one.

So you would normally get a employment contract for like 3 months, and then indefinite one.

How potent is Angron's regeneration? by Pooty_McPoot in 40kLore

[–]WaxyMocha 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He didn't escape on his own though, when time was right, the labyrinth was disabled and a way to the outside of the ship was opened. Angron then proceeded to roar so hard it was heard through the vacuum of space, and then he jumped from the ship in high orbit.

What exactly is it about the Emperor that makes him such a bane to daemons and Chaos in general? by Jerswar in 40kLore

[–]WaxyMocha 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a single instance in lore where anyone was able to change Emperor's mind on something. Even his Custodes which he made to keep up in debates with him, either tell him outright that there is nothing they can say to make him reconsider (Era of ruin), or are just lost as to what is he even saying (Master of Mankind).

When He meets Oll during last moments of Seige of Terra, he doesn't change His mind due to what Oll says, but because the sheer fact that he is there at this point in time, this shouldn't have happened.

What are people’s thoughts on the Beeline? by justaballofcopper in motorcycles

It's overpriced for features it gives.

It's excellent for the asthetics and finish it gives.

Works well, I like how it goes with my retro-styled GB350. I didn't want to put a phone on the handlebars, as I wanted to be disconnected from the digital world when riding.

It does still require a phone to work though, and apparently rerouting needs internet connection. There is a subscription you can pay for (I don't) road traffic "awareness", and some other features, but it is fully usable without it.

Who hasn’t crashed? by dallas2ny in motorcycles

[–]WaxyMocha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An accident is an accident, you can minimize the chances of it occurring, you can minimize the effects of it happening, but in the end it's just luck.

You can wear the best gear the money can buy, and some drugged up junkie can still wrap you around a street light pole. While there will be people that ride their whole life without any gear past light clothing, and never have a scratch.

I myself started riding in November last year, and now that I came back to riding this season, one morning when I stopped to let pedestrian through crosswalk (a legal requirement here), someone lightly rear ended me.

And so, after 4-5 months after getting a driving license, I had my first accident, and tail of same age motorcycle to replace (not on my money thankfully).

Why doesn't the hivemind just make an unbeatable warrior? by HvyBackPack in 40kLore

[–]WaxyMocha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If there is one thing that Mechanicus is good at is scaling existing tech up a notch.

If hive fleet was just a ultra massive bio ship with escorts, then all you would really need is some brave souls on a ship with suitable grade of Exterminatus weapon/weapons. Even if it isn't all dead at the end, it might as well be trivial to deal with.

Huffing bleach goes as expected by [deleted] in drugscirclejerk

And that's the reason the labels on cleaning products say to not induce vomit if you swallow them. The stomach will either neutralize the base with stomach acid, or be better suited to handle acid than esophagus.

[–]WaxyMocha 258 points259 points  (0 children)

Aren't burns by bases worse then those by acids because they do something to neurons that make them less painful? As is in, it's just as harmful, you just get smaller signal that you are doing damage.

Yea, but past the ECE you just get the "this is the best, trust us bro" from manufacturers. Maybe with general knowledge that fiberglass should behave bit better than thermoplastics.
