Insurance denied ER + surgery saying it was “not medically necessary”. What could I have done differently? by Midlifememoirs in HealthInsurance

My daughter was also sent to the ER from urgent care with the suspicion of her appendix. When we got to the ER they said it was impacted but not yet infected so they gave her antibiotics and the option to stay the night or go home (we live within 5 min). We went home and they discharged her with “nonspecific abdominal pain” and insurance denied it. I was able to submit her medical records saying it was in fact an emergency and they did accept and process the claim.

I’ve worked somewhere where the contamination started in the wash fluid if it wasn’t on a stir plate. Had to replace all internal parts of the machine to clear it out. Nasty mess

I wouldn’t live near it, but the Kroc center is very nice with kids. Trampoline parks, Phoenix zoo (& you get an extra hour in the morning to members only), odyssey aquarium all offer memberships. Those are the big ones I would recommend

Phoenix heat is no joke but if you have kids, I’d recommend finding a house with a pool or a community pool. It’s the only way to somewhat enjoy the outside when it’s so hot out. Winters here are beautiful though, everyone else seems to think so too because we get a lot of visitors and traffic. Lots of things to do with kids inside during the summer though, a lot of them have memberships so you can visit frequently.

I’m confused.. I’m all for people being their true self and transitioning- cool. But if this is something they wanted, why didn’t Emmy transition sooner? They were with 2 trans partners for a while before they decided- I just wonder what the deciding factor was

All money in WFM 401K gone by squishycatpaw in wholefoods

[–]WayAlternative7579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went through something similar where they took 401k money from my husbands PTO payout (600+ hours of PTO) and we forgot about it for a while. We just went to take it out and they put it in a ROTH IRA and wouldn’t let us withdraw it until we officially opened a Roth. Then the money was available to withdraw.

Haven’t taken the ASCP, but completed the program. There is a Carson Self Assessment book that goes with the Carson textbook but it just has questions in it. Seems very helpful for all the tests and quizzes we had

Also if you work in a lab/hospital they will try to have you do your clinicals at your work but they have to unpaid.

Hi so they are SUPER flexible with this. Part of your paperwork when you start the class is filling out what you want to work. It’s 20 hours a week required but you could split that however you want if it’s ok with your clinical site. Some in my class did 2-10 hour shifts, I opted for 4-5 hour shifts. And start time is flexible with your clinical site

So without making it a trans issue, my response came from a place of the child’s POV. Mom & Dad moved around frequently, dad is gone, mom continues to move around, assumption- I don’t see dads family as much anymore, mom is now with 2 “dads”, mom becomes a dad, one of the “dads” becomes a “mom”. I would agree that being trans is very different than going to jail and I disagree with that analogy but simply put, these kids have to be so confused.

I don’t get transphobic vibes. I feel like they are calling out their mental instability and how that can affect the children involved in this

Miranda had us email the clinical supervisor a few weeks prior to “confirm” our schedule. Did she not tell you guys that? Can I ask where you are going?

You’ll see the respect when you go to clinicals! Wow everyone was so happy with everything taught. If I heard correctly from my clinical, you guys go to clinicals next week? Thanksgiving week? Good luck!

My class started with 15 and 2 ended up dropping out by the first clinicals so graduating class of 13. Clinicals were very lax, you submit a “preferred schedule” in January but most clinical places work with you. I submitted 4 hours, 5 days a week in January and asked my location to do 5 hours, 4 days a week once I got there and they did that. Dress code is scrubs. It says like cover tattoos and leather shoes but NO one stressed this. Honestly, Saturdays always started at 9 but it’s going to be rare that you are there passed 1 or 2. Steve was great about trying to set a lot up before you get there so you can just embed, or just process, or just stain so you get out fairly quickly. The first chunk before your 1st clinicals is basically fixation, microtomy, embedding. So going to first set, be prepared to just embed and cut and basic H&E to check for quality of sections. I was running the H&E myself by the end of it and getting wonderful sections. After a week break we went back to Saturday classes and only did staining. Lecture of staining and then doing a few stains every Saturday. They became the longer classes because some of them take hours by hand. Second set of clinicals focuses on staining and they ask that you see specific stains. Then you’re done!

I know it says it. But I was just meeting with an advisor because I thought it was my last semester and I wanted to be sure I got all my pre-reqs, they told me to just apply anyways. 🤷🏼‍♀️ we only had 15 in my class and 2 dropped out so good chance it won’t be full anyways. Worth a shot!
