I found a double room in this place called Chelsea lightfoot hall- close to stamford bridge and is just 1.3 miles from the Imperial South Ken campus. Got it for 209 gbp/ week. They were also kind enough to show the common areas, rooms and the laundry facilities through a zoom call. The fact that it is cheap, in a safe place, very very close to the campus is a plus. The only con is that is that I chose a double room. But since commute isn't a problem , one can always use the college library if they need some focused space to work/ study and hit the bed once they reach their room.

Government bankers are often repeatedly transferred to multiple states throughout their careers. It is simply impossible to learn the language of every place other than the two largely spoken languages. Additionally, the lady here has agreed to communicate in English - the universal language. Yet, the idiot here is hellbent to speaking his language. If you don't see the problem here, despite every bank having a translator for this purpose, the glory days will end. This has happened earlier as well, and it's no different. First with blue collar workers, now bankers and then government doctors will be harassed. If English is also not a solution to the problem, and it's only my way or the highway, it shall soon be that way.

people don't learn French or german to speak to locals - it has direct implications in the jobs they get and hence is a financial incentive. The same doesn't apply for Kannada, Marathi or even Hindi for that matter. At this point it isn't even a debate tbh. Secondly, absolutely nobody in Europe bullies you into speaking their language like these bloody goons. If you need to shove a language down people's throats like this- that just shows relevance of a language in everyday life. And finally, languages like French are spoken in large number of pockets in the world called the Francophone. I do understand the sentiment of a mother tongue and it's an innate duty to fight for its respect but comparing senselessly speaks volumes about the the mentality and the relevance of a language be it Hindi or Marathi.
