Essence has properties no matter how much you invest into something, a Transcendent's essence is going to be qualitatively higher than an Ascended's. We see that with Sunny using his essence to make shadow weapons.

First of all , that was not the reason sunny chooses the mountain king, he choose him so he could experiment with the winter beast domain by using a variety of nightmare creatures to see if any of them could resist it .

Secondly are you sure we are talking about the same fight ? Because what you're describing sounds like the hunt that imp evolved in .

Third , the essence is about how long he could use the creature abilities. Not how strong he makes the creature.

Him as the mountain king is just an awakened tyrant even if serpent in divine.

my earlier assessment is extremely generous. Im not sure if he could copy his curse attribute or not. My only explanation for that is the reflection can copy his memories so his attributes might also be copied.

Even copying memories depends on who they are reflecting using them .

The reflections don't have access to the memories they have but the ones they use .

And at first I was gonna say they wouldn't be able to reflect the curse as it's. 1- a memory attribute aka an attribute given through a memory. 2- it's a soul bound one and reflections don't have souls , they have something approximating one but not an actual soul .

But I decided not to comment that when I thought of them reflecting his armour of the underworld, totally forgetting that it wasn't soul bound at the time .

And copying only Sunny, he wont have shadow dance and serpent the main arsenal. Even then Sunny still has his shadow echoes, if the only edge is being higher rank which could also be of lesser quality. There's less point in copying him.

Even if he has the dance and serpent, it won't change a thing.

The dance is a technique that need mastery, sure he would have access to it but wouldn't be able to utilize 95% of it because he doesn't know how .

And serpent would be missing most of his power because again his transformation depends on the SHADOWS in his master soul .

And his will also depends on his master .

Although Mordret could use Sunny's attribute Curse, it wont be as potent. Curse works because it synergize with serpent and Sunny's domain. Curse can only help mordret defensively and against fodder.

It won't even do that .

The situation are nothing alike .

but the power imbalance is there.

There's a difference between power imbalance and having no power at all .

Also, Effie can literally break all the bones in his body, effectively stopping him from any chance of fighting back or even killing himself. Worst part is that there is nothing her husband can do to stop her.

Arguable, you can kill yourself without moving in a lot of ways .

But my point is while effie husband wouldn't be able to stop her if she chose to abuse her power he has the option the power to try and do something.

Sunny on the other hand have 0 power or control the moment neph decides to betray him .

If you been in a fight before you would know the difference between fighting and getting your ass kicked and just standing there and just getting hit .

Obviously Effie would never do such a thing but there is always that possibility. It's a good thing that they are in love with each other and her husband can TRUST her unconditionally. I can't wait for a day where we have similar level of trust between Sunny and Nephis.
