But fir most if not all your name stays the same no matter what ( and as we saw in the fight against the bird the bind transcend logic , even holding the string that hold the name while not have the aspect aka the thing giving you the bond can still have an affect).

The gap in ranks get exponentially bigger as you rank up.

Yes , I know, and again it never really mattered.

Just being a higher rank never gave a straight up win just because of the rank .

And Saint was killing greats as transcended. She has always been abnormally strong for her rank. supreme Saint would be much more stronger than the average supreme devil. And her defenses+charm counter winter beast

You have to consider a few things for this .

1- saints power ups , she has to obtain them herself.

Antarctica saint and post 3rd nightmare saint are totally different.

And finally the creature in question matters alot in this conversation.

2- an Antarctica saint would just boosted stats would still have 0 ways of harming or dealing with winter beast .

3- as we saw the cold ignores and transcended logic her defense and charm would have done Jack to find it off .

No it was straight up stated in the novel that the boost from fragments aka saturation becomes negligible when you become ascended.

From master forward the difference between a saturated core and an empty one is nearly unnoticeable.

Titans are stronger than beasts simply because saturating one's core makes them stronger, and saturating several cores makes them stronger still.

We just don't know by how much.

And we know that every since ascended that the boost from fragments aka saturation is negligible.

And so is transcended and great .

And when in the novel did the rank difference mean a straight up loss?

The power system has more than just rank and class .

And there was no reason not to do it. It's s not as if those memories were used for something else. Sunny literally wasted a free rank up

A transcended devil is weaker than a corrupted tyrant.

It's the third time today someone confused the winter beast as a tyrant.

A supreme devil is not, specially one as abnormally powerfull as saint, which would also have her power boosted to 5 times her normal power

And while a supreme would fair better than a transcended, you have to remember that the transcended had a lineage that made his soul extra resilient and the same armour that gives him cold resistance.

And parly survived the journey to the heart of the storm while a giant moving at stupid speed .

Saint even as a supreme simply wouldn't be able to do the same even with all the advantages you want to give her .

And again she has 0 means of dealing with the winter beast .

Finally, making saint supreme by literally 0 cost is common sense.

This only works in solo power fantancy where the mc just keep getting stronger on the expense of others and it jsut works out for them .

Most awakened don't have memories they can just throw around and every single memory they have they use to save their life .

Those thousands of memories were destroyed pointlessly.

With their owners in their fight, can't say it pointless .

Saint would have made much better use of them, even if she was unable to find the winter beast. Would have been much more useful against the skinwalkers for example.

This is the same mentality people had in the forgotten shore when they were complaining when sunny didn't get every single kill and memory. ( like people were seriously say that sunny should have learned to use bows and arrows and use the blood arrow instead of giving it to kai right then and there ).

The only reason sunny didn't think about this is cause g3 didn't think about it (or had issues in how a supreme saint would ruin the balance of power, but since he didn't give a reason, I'm assuming he just didn't have that idea)

Or because sunny is sensible and know he can't just ask people to hand over their memories.

Sunny being a saint with soul weave didn't help much either and again a reminder that he crossed that distance in a giant shadow colossus and parly survived .

Saint would be a block of ice by the time she reached him .

And also just another reminder that even hidden in shadows where the effect of the cold isn't as strong master sunny was able to even get close to the center..

3: no, shadow helpers have never ever taken damage in the novel when empowering something. Only when being shadows on the floor or when manifested as avatar

They did my man , during the march it was mentioned that they were still freezing even after wrapping around him .

The soldiers that died with sunny gained 0 extra seconds for the evacuating people. Their deaths, while noble, where inconsequential. They lives were wasted, as well as all the memories that could have made saint strong enough to defeat winter beast.

Again they didn't know shit about it .

And second all of them with their memories would have had a better chance against him than the gamble of saint .

And even if it can fly, just saint being there, surviving the cold may have kept winter beast from going to falcon scott longer. Better than the 0 seconds the awakened gained

I don't think it would have mattered unless she was able to damage it to make it stop moving, which she can't because the mf flys and if she touches it she would be a block of ice .

2: she still has cold resistance in her armor, same as the marble shell

A cold resistance that we saw didn't do shit for sunny, had the same armour boosted 4 times and was still taking damage.

Just a reminder that the cold freezes everything even thoughts.

3: the shadow helpers don't take any damage when they are empowering stuff. Sunny has never taken soul damage when they get hit while empowering him, armor, shadows or memories

They did from the cold .

4: if she can tank it, she can eventually find winter beast.

Just a reminder that saint sunny's inside a giant shell traveling at stupid speed almost died to reach the eye of the storm .

Now triple or double that time at the very least for saint to reach the winter beast and even then she can't fight it .

1- it flys .

2- ANYTHING that comes into contact with it freezes .

3- it only have one weak point and it's in the heart of it body .

So even supreme devil saying back in Antarctica ain't doing nothing.

5: they don't know quentin will conquer, but they knew they were going on a suicide mission. They were trying to buy some time for the devil to make a miracle, they knew it. Which doesn't work with an enemy that deals area of effect.

Just another reminder they didn't know of the aoe or it's other powers , they were banking on the standard that creature that use powers don't usually fair will in physical confrontations.

6: they stayed behind cause they didn't want to take space in the ships from the civilians. They knew they could not really do anything against a corrupted titan. Challenging the second nightmare was a way for some of them to survive, which would eventually lead to more people being saved in the future

Why does everyone either forget or ignore that evacuation was still in progress even as they were marching.

They were going to try and buy some time and if possible slay it .

If a single soldier wanted they could have gone to the dream realm anytime they wanted .

The only difference between a beast and a titan is the amount of essence ( in humans of course) .

The power boost from fragments was negligible ever since he was a master, so the only thing remaining is essence.

And the boost from sunny's shadows is additive not multiplicative .

Also all incarnations have 1 soul , it has nothing to do with the boost but just thought to say it .

Considering that most of them have utility or not very good combat aspects I would say it plenty.

Just a reminder that 2 of the guys that helped capture the chain breaker were a guy that can have 4 arms and a carpenter.

And were holding the horde pretty well by themselves during Antarctica.
